from wiki, the fail-safe of all knowledge :P

They produced extremely accurate astronomical observations
so not predictions, just observations. the wiki page doesn't even contain the word prediction?

and technically the universe could be much older no one has any record of when the universe began or how it began remember the big bang theory is just a theory and predictions are not always on the dot

Most people don't realize this but our planet is the Utopia of the universe, It evolves and changes by it self that's why we have so many different species.

We don't know there aren't other planets with traits just like ours you should watch Nova more often and definitely the discovery channel you think you're being deep but not really coming off that well.

I love when people say when something like that is just a theory. Evolution, the big bang.

You guys didn't pay attention in science class obviously.... You'd know that theory is pretty much fact in science.

We've actually watched the big bang happen.

Wrong.

Try 4.5 billion years old.

Which is actually really fucking old since the universe is only 13 billion years old.
ya its ONLY 13 billion years old lol

having not read utopia, i dont think you truly understand the words meanings. go to a book store and pick up the book utopia, its a good read, written by a lunatic, with a few good points and alot of fallacies if you can step back and think of the books meaning in the long run, and think about human nature

Indeed. Honestly to me part of mankinds problem is the desire to want to fix everything. Make everything perfect and live in some peacful utopian society. I think it is only god that can bring true peace and we will not have it until the stench of the what transpires on this planet reaches heaven and offends god. A man might be capable of peace, but many men become a mobb and a mobb is incapable of peacful actions. Peace has been offered and promised and has proven elusive, but even when it visited us briefly it usually came from the business end of a gun. Yes...quite peaceful indeed.

a utopia is a perfect word, it could never exist. from the all knowing wiki:

""Utopia" is sometimes used pejoratively, in reference to an unrealistic ideal that is impossible to achieve"

as is communism and Marxism. this thread is starting to remind me of this kid in philosophy class. he had read the book and could quote any philosopher, when you asked him what was meant by that statement, he would shove his foot in his mouth and say some of the most asinine things i had ever heard, or say nothing at all.

That's just gonna kill us all lol. My views are coming from accent Egypt rulers aka Pharaohs. Just look at home much their civilization accomplish, the only down side is they used slaved labors, but in today's society that won't be necessary since we have so many unemployed people.
wait a fucking second... you're saying that the unemployed should become slaves and that's ok because that's how the egyptians did it? you talk about jesus coming and refer to the civilization that held the hebrews as slaves, the ones that moses rescued?

i think you may want to think about what you post before hitting that enter key.

@ symbolizes "AT" not "AND".

and do a little reading, maybe Aristotle and Plato and their views on perfection. ethics and aesthetics. how perfect is an impossible image that evrything is created ins image, but can never be truly perfect

then you can talk the end of the world and philosophy with me
