200cfm?

Is a 200cfm exhaust enough to cool a 50 cubic foot room? It is a 5x2x5ft with a 250w hps. there is a 10x20" filter on the lower side of one wall with a 70cfm fan to help the intake. I just don't want to buy a fan and find out that its too weak and the room be 100+ degrees.:wall:

I have attached a rough outline of the room. Any help receives +rep because I'm way out of my expertise on this one... ;)

Hi Your vent fan needs to be able to replace/extract the total volume of your space in 5 minutes or less(Cervantes, J.). A 50 cu ft space with a 200 cfm vent fan will have it's air replaced in 15 seconds. The fan is sucking 200 cu ft a minute, which translates to 100 cubic feet sucked out in half a minute and 50cu ft in 15 seconds (at high speed) Sounds big enough to me....You can always use a variable speed control to quiet it down and you have really good control over the environment (meaning humidity & heat). Not to mention expansion abilities. Good Luck! Happy Gardening! GrowIT!:weed:

awesome thats what I was hoping to hear. I did those calculations myself and didnt know it was a low as total volume/5min I was thinking for adequate ventilation you would need something like every 30 seconds minimum. +rep senior!!
