2 weeks before flowering, preparing the soil, lights and nutes

Actually i will flower on the 1st of feb and thats 11 days ( close to 2 weeks.) These purple kush has been beggie for 9 weeks already from seed and has been in Fox Farm Ocean Forest. I havent added anything to it yet just water with PH of 6.5. Yes they seem kinda small for vegging for 9 weeks that is why i wont flower them until the 1st of Feb. They have been vegging under 32 watt florescent tube lights ( the 4 footer kind). I havent purchased the flowering lights let. I have topped them all atleast twiced and had supper cropped them 3 days ago.
As you can see in the pics that the soil is 4"to 5" from the top of the pots (i used a pack of cigs to guestimate.) The plant that you see with the cigs in it has the canopy at 10" even with it being super cropped and topped. And I have a couple of bigger ones that has the canopy at 14" after topping and super cropping.

1) If i was to put more fresh FFOF on it would that be like adding more nutes? or should i go get tiger bloom to make it grow better?

2) Did i properly supper cropped them, looks like i messed them up.

3) What are some better but cheap lightings that i can get for around $500 i want to spread them out in a 8X8X8 grow space because i think they will very bushy after readying about how they stretch during flowering. I know $500 is not alot for buying lights but that is my budget. I am going to have to look for used lights. I am would like to take a look at any suggestions.

4) I am about to let them veg 24/0 before the flowering cycle. Right now they are at 18/6. Should i go ahead and start the 24/0 of lighting now? And when i get my flowering lights, i will also utilize the lights in the 24/0 cycle before it goes to flowering and keep all the lights on for 12/12 during flowering.

Yes so many question for a newbie but i am trying to prepare my girls for the flowering stage and want to make it the best that i can for themso they can make it better for me. Thanks in advance. DSC02892.jpgDSC02893.jpgDSC02898.jpg

yes get tiger bloom I have ocean forest I love it but they need more mine are 4 weeks in and almost as big as yours cause I used grow big. I'm not even going to chop mine just let them do their thing and you should look on amazon for virtual sun I got a 600 w with a cooling tube the ballast the ducting attachments hangers and both mh and hps lights for under 300 and I love it it's a great system and does very good work on my babies as far as lighting goes I personally wouldn't do 24/0 just keep it at 18 6 until you flower that's just my opinion this is my second grow

Thanks Broadster, the info on the lights is good have you used it to complete the flowering stage yet? I was looking on craigslist for used lights. Seems like i might be going with a couple of 1000 watt HPS lights ...its cheap to buy and just got to turn it on for 12 hours a day. It seems to balance out a little when i get to turn off the heater and use the heat from the light. Now what would you say if i was to add regular fresh Fox Farm Ocean Forest to the top of the soil and let it go to the plant as i water them? Im thinking that this will satisfy their nutes needs. And it will give more room for the roots to grow....i wonder if roots keep going up if more soil is added. They are ina 3 gallon buckets.

I have not yet but I'm sure it's going to be fantastic but that's a perfect idea for the lights go cheap make sure they work of course and as far as the soil questions goes that's definitely a logical idea I haven't thought about that one I just feel like in a matter of weeks you'd be overflowing with soil I again personally wouldn't do that for a nice big bottle you're only lookin at 25 or so maybe cheaper and that will ensure they get proper food if you love them they'll love you right back I spoiled mine and they're doing pretty damn good I'd have to say right now

The next time the light comes on it will be watering time. i am thinking about putting fresh FFOF on top before i water them. I wont beable to get to the hydro store in time for the next light on cycle (I need assisted to get around) Kinda curious if this will add more needed nutes to the plantsin a good way or will it harm them because they need the "soon to be flowering nutes."

I don't think it will do harm I like the idea I'd do it if I weren't out of soil but I don't think too many people used preflowering nuts if you haven't used anything keep it like that until you flower then get the nutes. Are they clones or seeds cause I'm going to flower and if I have fems then I will buy the nutes but that's after the fact. Also soil is soil they make certain nutes for certain stages but ffof will always be a good fertilizer weather it be veg clones or flower. I even put my little seedlings in ffof after people said it was too rich and it did just fine

They are purple kush from seed. I have 12 of them that made it to the vegging stage and one turned out to be a nute starved dwarf. One seed did'nt hatch all the rest got put into a one inch cubes with that exanded tablet soil ( not sure ehat they are called.) After they all got put into miracle grow in 4" containers, bad transition to make that transition while the ll plants are that small. Then i found out about Fox Farm OF and i put them in a 3 gallon bucket thinking that this small plant dosent need all that soil. Well now they are bigger i can see how much room they can use. I still have one bag of FFOF left and was thinking to use it to top of the soil to the rim and maybe the plants can use the extra room if the roots decides that they want to go a little higher, not sure if they do or can. I was hopeing to hear fro someone that had tried it and tell me the results and how they did it and what they did it with.

i hope someone helps you out but i say go for it if you've got a whole bag try it and see how they turn out and then next time grow from nutes and see what you like better

Early early this morning i got up to feed my plants. I put some new soil (FFOF) on top of the old soil (FFOF) that had nothing in it at all for 9 weeks. Then i watered them. That exhausted me so i went to sleep. This afternoon my friend came over and assisted me over to the hydro shop and i got some Tiger Bloom. Only if i had this in the early morning before i fed them. The medium is saturated, it was on a 3 day watering cycle. Now im excited and want to see what affects the tiger bloom will do for my plants. Should i wait till the next watering day to give it to them or should go ahead and do it anyways feed them again since i know they want these nutrients??

be very low key with them you didn't give them anything in veg so you can't just start overloading them with nutes start with 1/4 of the recommended doseage. Did you actuualy put them under 12/12 too?

They won't be put to 12/12 until the 1st of feb. Right now they are on 18/6 after tomorrow i am going to put the 24/0 before putting them 12/12. They are healthy so they dont need to work on internal maintenance so i am going to give them as much cfl lights as i can before i shut them down to complete darkness for 48 hours and then going to 12/12.

The guy at the hydro shop did say to start off with 1/2 strength or less and gradually work my way up and to pay attention to the plant's reaction.
