What is rooted? They are planted in soil and have yet to be repotted.. idk if that means anything for your question..
By "getting by" you mean they are working towards death or they are just not doing good and can hold for a while as is? I'd hate to budget out and kill my plants waiting for pay day for what I need to fix this.
When you say no perlite to loosen up.. what do you mean? It's a miricle grow soil (ik I've done researched enough to know I fucked up there)
Unless the situation improves, they will continue to just get by, meaning slow, stunted growth and generally not worth the time. You need to get some basics nailed down, such as light fluffy grow medium (perlite) that drains well. Ideal Temps and humidity, good PH range and the right food for the different stages. Hard to say what the real issue is, but soil like that tends to be filled with bark causing high PH, leading to neut defeciency, water logged near the bottom of the pot. Perhaps repot, with good drainage at the bottom, coco and perlite (50/50) to keep in budget with general Hydro neuts or whatever you can sourse for a good price. Back off the lights too. Less light will help with recovery.
So the past week or so I've been just flushing to see the reaction and it is getting better. Not great but not as curled or discolored. Next time I'll have to take into consideration the initial planting and nutrients needed like you said with unfertilized stuff. Just never seen seeds in what I get and was like let's see how this goes and nabbed my girls plant stuff lmao.
Perlite is made out of mined volcanic glass. It is mixed with soil or coco. You have likely seen what looks like white rocks mixed in soil before. Roots need oxygen, when perlite is mixed with soil or coco it keeps oxygen at the roots so they don't drowned. It also helps prevent soil form compacting. I grow with coco and have 25 to 30% perlite mixed in.
