2 tents 1 fan…

Hi everyone.. like the title says, I’m trying to see if I can run (1) fan to exhaust (2), small-ish tents.
Tent 1 is 32x60x80 (almost 5x3) and the other is 24x48x60. Based on my beautiful sketch, does this seem like it would work?

Here’s some details;

5x3 has a Viparspectra 480w LED fixture.
2x4 has (2) 120w LED fixtures

The fan is a Terrabloom ECMF-150, 6” in-line rated at 288cfm. I know, on paper 288cfm doesn’t seem like enough, but it’s currently only running on just the 5x3 tent at about 20-25% speed (into a scrubber) with the 480w light on 50% and it keeps temps below 77f, so it seems like there is plenty of wiggle room for more air movement.

I just have to get a large tote and some blocks for the scrubber. The plan is to mount it outside, just raise off the ground and covered. Is this ok during winter months??

Youre losing some cfm by having the fan blow through the scrubber and when those plants hit late stage flower and the light is turned up, its going to generate a hell of alot of humidity and heat.

Are you flowering in both? If one of those is for veg, you really don't need to vent it out of the room.

eventually the 5x3 will be flowering and 2x4 will veg.

Put dampers on both tents to throttle flow to desired amount
I thought about doing the exact same thing, bought the split for my 6in ACINFINITY exaust, ended up scrapping it because the veg tent really didn't smell or meaningfully affect the humidity.
My veg tent stinks but I would scrub that too if I was hooking another fan. I guess power wise it’s almost the same shit but it would cost more up front for equipment unfortunately

I have used a large tote with three holes cut in it, with the fan and filter inside it, fan venting out one hole, and the other two holes connected to ducting from two separate tents. Used the temperature in the tents to decide how much to increase the fan speed, had to turn it up quite a bit until I doubled the amount of passive intakes, then I could turn the fan speed back down a bit.
I originally had the tents on opposite sides of the room, but when I put them side by side and shortened the ducting I could turn the fan speed back to nearly it's original speed used for a single tent.
Later on I went back to single tent in that room, had to turn the fan down again below where it was originally for one tent, with the extra intake making the difference.

A Y piece has less resistance than the T, I might have missed something looking at your sketch but most air will always go the route of least resistance so you need to keep ducting equal lengths.

Backwards. Heat rises. You're making the fan work against physics. Push from the low side to the high side and exhaust.

Humidity is the # 1 killer of carbon scrubbers. I wouldn't put it outside
agreed on the Y fitting
this would only be in winter months where it’s super dry outside. Do you mean the humidity created from the warmish air coming out into the cold scrubber?

You will probably get more air flow from the tent that is closer to the fan. Maybe that is desired, otherwise you will need to make the distance from both tents to the t-piece equal.

As others have said, I would not put the carbon filter outside. Put it inside the flowering tent, and have the air drawn through it. This will probably divert some air flow to the veg tent, so you might have to compensate for that in some way (make the intake smaller on that end or create an additional dent).

Putting a choker on the veg side is a good idea. It will also help if late flower temps end up slightly out of the desired range.

issue with putting the scrubber inside the tent is it weighs a TON.. I’m afraid my tent won’t l be able to support it plus the light and fan…
