According to science a male plant can become an intersexed plant but ive never seen a male plant sprout female sex organs,i kill males to fast to ever find out unless im breeding for seed.
As for cloning you need to remember this, lets say the plant your taking a cutting from is a 6 month old female, once the cutting takes root & establishes its own root system in about two weeks it becomes a plant,at that point the clone/plant is now a 6 month old plant, its an exact replica of its mother & will carry all the traights (wanted or unwanted) that its mother has.
What you can do is this,if the weed is a strain that you really enjoy & think you would like some seeds for future grows is to keep the plants alive, then cut off all the pollen sacks as they grow, then put them in a sealed air tight jar for future use.
Now your ready to make seed, when your next batch of females are in heavy bud take a female out of the room so you dont spread pollen, then get a tiny paint brush, then carefully & lightly dip & apply small amounts of pollen on a few select buds, then put a fan in front of the plant to remove any loose pollen that might spread to the grow room before putting the pollinated female back in the room.
This will give you seeds mainly on the buds you pollinated & your all set with seeds my friend.
