2 Qb96elites powered by hlg-320H-54a help plz

Guys I'm new to RIU I've only ever used GC. The problem I'm having I just ordered 10 qb96elites as well as 5 hlg-320H-54a drivers to power them in sets of two. For a total of 5 fixtures. I've literally spent days trying to figure out what exactly I'm going to need to get these bad boys on and in my 4x8' new flower tent. With the least amount of unnecessary wires. Properly so I dont burn my house down. Let's just pretend like I have 2 qb96elites and a hlg-320H-54a driver to power them, those are being shipped as we speak other than 18 ga copper wire, waggos and a voltage meter I would like to hook up from driver to led, what else will I need. And if someone could take the time to help me get this hooked up, I will take the next guy who needs help. The problem over at GC the guys who are the wizards have reached there max amount of stupid questions. I get it I just dropped 1400 $ on drivers and qb96elites. Any help is appreciated. I've done all the basic readings and videos. Just want to make sure this is properly and safely done. Cheers

Appreciate it I'll check it out, my brains about to explode with new unrelevent information, yeah I'm so exited about the purchase, also bought a four pack of Qb120v2 3500k for a veg tent. I'm going to continue jumping down these rabbit holes until I get what I want. Thanks

I have 8 of those qb120's. They rock too! Good luck!
Truth of the matter is, I tend to overanalyze most things, it's only a matter of getting my hands on these lights and figure out the best way to wire them, I jumped in a bit soon. Pulled the trigger now I'm scrambling. Thanks for the words

Wiring them is pretty simple and straight forward. They have connections you slide the wire in. You just need to decide on oarralel or series wiring. HLG has soem great diagrams on wiring your lights and drivers for each application.

Ask a eletrical engineer. LEDGARDENER.com
The is guy brilliant. He responded to a email at 2am spent over 1hr walking me through a problem. There was absolutely nothing in it for him. Can't beat that. And he doesn't push any particular product line.

If those drivers are outputting 320 watts * 5 = 1600 watts, you’re close to maxing out a typical 15 amp circuit (at least in the US, I think the max is like 1875, but I only know this from recent research). Be careful! I’m setting up a new tent as well, and picked up a workshop power strip which should trip before I blow the house circuit. I’m getting a 5x5 together, and plan on running low enough wattage to leave me room for other devices. I also picked up a p3 kill a watt for ~$20, so that I can see power draw at the wall.

You are right. 1800w is about the limit. 20 amp breaker would give you a safer buffer if the wiring is sized for it.
My 60's house has 12 gauge everywhere and 20amp breakers, but they are daisy chained throughout the house outlet to outlet. Run an additional circuit for the light from its own breaker if you are unsure of what everything feeds.

MY MAN!! " said in a Denzel Washington voice " the truth of the matter I've literally set here and typed out so many different questions, erased them because they all seem to ridiculous. I have my 10 qb96elites on their way as well as the 5 hlg-320H-54a drivers. I'm going to go get a roll of 18 Ga copper wire, some waggo connectors. ( is there a certain size I need.) And is there anything else I need to put on my ace, lowes run. Would love to not have to keep going back, but not that big of a deal. I'm going to continue doing research on hooking these up 2 LEDs to 1 driver, the most efficient way, but when they get here I sure hope you are still saying Ask. I'm just getting a bit nervous, I sure dont want these sitting on my desk more than an afternoon. Made my day with your simple " Ask "

That's excellent information thank you brother

Yeah I actually just had that same thought today, sitting here running numbers in my head, I'm going to want the option of running them 100% and that is alot of electricity, that all being said I do plan on putting another breaker in this room, just another slight setback. Jesus..... I'll get it taken care of. !

First things first....
Pull it together WarByrd!!!! ;) You got some really good equip on its way!!! Never hesitate to ask for help here.
Wagos, are wagos, are wagos…. No concern with sizes, other than number of conections available, My local ACE hardware has the 3 slot wagos, those would be fine....My Local ACE dosent have 18ga solid wire, only 16 and up...This could be an issue, DO NOT use 16ga in the poke in connectors....

Dude I know. I also have some of the Qb120v2 3500k coming for a veg room. Pulled the trigger way to far away from the target. ( getting some ducks in a row ) Your willingness to help is so appreciated. Ty. Tom I'm going to track down the 18 Ga copper wire ( no other gauge) , and the waggos. Can you think of anything else to throw on home department store run.

Who knows, your ACE/Lowes may have 18ga soild, Im in the bumblefuck UP of MI, if you cant get it off the shelf, there are ways...
I had the unfortunate experience of breaking a few poke in connectors, because I couldn't find 18ga....SO, don't do that...

No regrets, no looking back, you got the goods comin, you'll get this shit put together!
Do you absolutely NEED it running tomorrow????
Got any second hand junk stores around? St. Vinny? Old Flourescent fixtures often use 18ga solid core copper inside, I harvested many....All the colors of the rainbow....

Very welcome advice. Nope I can wait as long as it takes to properly set this stuff up. I dont imagine it will be a problem finding the 18 Ga copper wire, I can think of 5 stores I can check Tom, the copper wire, is that the only wiring I need.? What would you get Tom in preparation for this project.

No regrets and no looking back. Your the man buddy. Thanks again when I get this quantum realm set up I will put you in my thank you speech.!!
