They both germd and broke ground very quickly, but one had its shell stuck on tighly, so this morning i had to do very delicate surgery with tweezers, and it revealed looking like an orange nipple.

The other seeds shell fell off mostly by itself but it looks very strange, not sure if its part of the inner membrane stuck to the seedlings or just mutations

You should have just left it as the plant would remove it when it’s used everything from within that shell that it needs.

the leaves would break it open and discard it.

Wait n see what happens.. Helmet heads are caused by your seed being to shallow..
Emerge to quickly..
I removed the shell because i read they can die if it doesnt come off, and its been a couple days above surface with no change. So in the circumstance, how long would you guys wait before removing the shell manually?
And how deep would you place the seed?

Used to go 3/4-1" in my soil, but now I don't do direct planting.. I use the old 2 plate paper towel method and germinate before I plant.. I hate digging out upside down seeds.. Your seeds weren't developed enough, the top one still has the sac over the cot leaves.. It could make it! Not sure about the other one..

I never had such sensitive seeds a decade ago, and ive popped a few thousand.
Its like breeders bred the resliance out of their genetics. This is my first grow back since 2010
