2 gallon bucket?

For a smaller plant it will be enough for sure. For a large plant, probably not.

I'm just now trying to figure out if 5 gal bucket will be enough for my 2 months in veg monster (if anyone knows, please do tell).

Ya I was kinda thinking a 2 gallon might be a lil small I'm trying to keep my plant small but I think a 3 gallon might be better off, trying to have a micro/ stealth grow. But I want to keep it in a dwc I have it currently in a 10 gallon tub but I want it smaller till I get another plant growing.

The biggest problem with the smaller containers is that it's harder to control temps and PH and they will require that you be right on top of keeping the water level up. Other than that I don't see a problem.

I use 2 gal containers for my plants in veg. I like them because it helps me to control the size of the plants. I switch to a larger container (3.5 Gal) for when I flip the lights to 12/12. I find the 2 gal bucket perfect for me. 1 gal of Nutrient solution and all the feed charts are per gal measurements

I don't bother changing the solution for the first 3 weeks because they are hardly drinking. All I do is bump up the ppms to keep them the right shade of green as needed.

Once they start feeding more though, I'll change it every week or so. By then, I can adjust feeding based on ppm fluctuations.

I downgraded from growing in 5 gallons to 3.5 gallon buckets but I only do a short 2'ish week veg.

For a smaller plant it will be enough for sure. For a large plant, probably not.

It's probably doable (depending on your lights/heat/RH) but expect to be replacing 2+ gallons a day or mixing a new bucket every other day in flower. Been there and done that with just 3 plants once and it wasn't fun.

i use 2 gallon buckets for my mother plants. but when I put them in the tent ill leave them in the 2 gal buckets. the white or blue ones from lowes. but if you can see light thru it paint it, itll stagger your growth if the roots turn green. I usually get 2-3 zips off a 2 gal bucket. but as said. youll hve more maintenance wth a smaller bucket. be more caring and personal grow or ya..lol

Ive been doing DWC for a while now and i have always started all my plants off in a 2 gal bucket for several reasons. For such a small plant a 5 gal bucket is a waster of water and nutrients. 2 gal is alot more user friendly and despite what people may think, the ph is very easy to control. You can use a 2 gal bucket for the first month and still have planty of room for the roots. After i switch to flower is when i move the plant to a 5 gal bucket. I actually grew a auto flower and kept it in a 2 gal for 2 months and only had to use a 5 gal for the last couple weeks. I ended up getting over 5 oz from that auto flower. One big reason a 2 gal is better for smaller plants is because the amount of oxygen being pumped into 2 gal is going to be more efficient then that of a 5 gal. The more air you can pump into your res the bigger and better your plants and buds will be. I have a commercial duty pump with 4 air outlets, i have 4 air stones in the two gal bucket and it looks like the bucket is erupting due to all the air in the bucket. It will make your plants grow faster and bigger for the first month if you use a 2 gal period.
