2 gal pots, how big should they grow?

i have a few girls vegging in 2 gal pots, the biggest one is about 9 inches tall. not very big for a month-old plant because i made a few mistakes, but how big can they get in that size pot?

and at which point should i start flowering? i dont have much vertical space so i want to know how big they will get.

Your plants will double to triple in size when you start flowering.

Your plants can get as big as you want them in those pots, but you will have issues such as daily watering and whatnot. I would suggest flowering no taller than 12" to finish at about 2ft. I don't know how much vertical space you have, but you can flower the plants as soon as they clones are showing roots. They will not get that big, but you can cram a ton of tiny clones in there if you don't have vertical height.

Also, next time use small pots first, then work your way up to the larger ones. The larger pots cause the plant to grow more roots than it does up top. Once it fills out the pot it will start to grow upwards. If you use a smaller pot, the roots fill in faster and the top of the plant will grow faster. It also helps with the wet dry cycle of the soil. You want to be watering every 2-3 days.

pot size is not what stops the growth. it's lights.

this is a 12/12 from seed about 1 and a half weeks to harvest.
in a 1 gallon pot.

she was 42.8 grams dry weight.

this is on in a 10" pot that vegged to 18" then flowered



106.7 grams dry

wow, i never knew they could get so huge in such small containers... i thought they get "rootbound" pretty quickly. good to know.

i am using a homebox with a 400w mh/hps cooltube, so i got almost 4 ft of vertical space (2ft length & width wise) not very much, i am thinking of doing a SCROG grow. what do you guys think? is that my best option ?

The plants do get rootbound, but if you can supply enough nutrients and water and whatnot they will still grow. You can grow huge plants in hydro with really small containers. You just have to keep the plants fed with the proper amount of light.

You may lose some of the lower leaves if you have the plants in smaller pots, but they will not be getting that much light anyway since your light wont penetrate that far.

Anyone still here ? Hi I’m Mike from the year 2021, how things have changed, they have these really great autoflower breeds now, quite cool. These are called Girl Scout Cookies, from Garden of Green seeds, the smell like creamy sugary cookies & potency is phenomenal (tested out at 22.3% thc).
Pics of some GSC buds & the hash/Thai sticks made.
I enjoyed my time travel back to your star date & your photo period grow tips thank you, but I must be getting back I can’t stay young foreve.

In living soil with20 % native soils and mulch mixed in the first 3 weeks I’ll water maybe 2-3 x max the soil stays moist u also cover the soil with card board so the microbe are super active in rhizospere. Once in flower yes I will have water every 3 days

You didn't get yelled at, you got joked.

And if you're in living soil, in a 2 gallon container.... good luck. A decent sized plant will suck all the nutrition out of that soil, faster than the microbes can replenish.

If you feel you were attacked please click on Report in the post you feel attacked you. We'll be there to help sort things. Conversely when someone is going down a wrong path the guys try very hard to help. Sometimes it can feel more negative than positive so yeah it can sometimes feel like that. Anyway if you have a problem the mods are usually around, when not in our grow rooms, or high :eyesmoke:

Well in a way you wanna grow buds (not trees) so falling colas is a good thing;) I’ve been keeping mine all small
