2 630cmh in a 5x5x7? Already flowering with 1

Well I'm in the middle of my first grow.. Expected a few males honestly but ended up with all 7 that took off being females so the tent is kinda packed.. Everyone topped 1 after the 6th. Plants are flowering, a week and a cpl days in.. In the tent, nanolux 630cmh, ipower 6inch 442 cfm fan/carbon filter, and a cpl small fans blowing the plants around..tent is in spare bedroom, ac in bedroom stays at 66 and tent stays 74ish.. Was thinking of adding my 2nd 630cmh I have laying around and was wondering if anyone else has done anything near this much wattage in this size In a space with cmh?

I do 4x315 in a 8x12 that's offset 3' from center. I also run 2x315 and 4x 4 bulb 4' t8 4k lights in a 5x10 veg room.

You cant really overdo cmh. Pack those hoods in, overlap areas will deffinately show a bit more yields.

So you think I'll be fine throwing a 2nd 630cmh in my 5x5x7 tent? A nanolux 630 and a vivosun 630 in a 5x5x7 lol.. I just know I need more lighting for how packed it is, and my other thought is, it's either these 2 cmh for total of 1260w cmh or, add some cobs or some type of led in the corners of the tent basically

That's a lot of light for a 5x5, but its doable. You will need ac. If you can I would use a 942 and a 930 bulb in each hood, and alternate them.

I may even make an upgrade to 4x dual mogul socket raptor hoods. It would be 4 hoods with 2x315 in each hood.

Ya everything is in a 10x10x8 spare bedroom, 12kbtu portable ac in the room, have the 5x5x7..a triangle grow tent for veg/seedlings and just ordered 2 4x4x7 and the room will be full lol.. So ya.. The 5x5x7 I judt use the mesh intake screens at the bottom of the tent and have the fan/carbon filter taking out the heat/smell and have plenty of room to turn the fna up to take more heat out if need be.. And can turn the ac down more.. I guess only thing to do is try it! Lol just wasn't sure which direction to go.. And I could alternate bulbs but I would have to order a cpl 4200k..only have all 3100k cuz I read plants would do fine veg/flower with just 3100k..annnd they have been of course... My other thought was like I said some cobs or something led cuz I have other plants ready to go under the 2nd 630cmh I have.. Either way imma be buying more lights

I've done testing with the 942 vs then930 in flower, never in veg.

In flower the veg bulb did well. It lowered my room temp by 3*, but I yielded about 2oz less than my normal flower 942 bulb runs.


I do t think a 12k portable is gonna cut it for 2x630cmh. The only way is to air cool the hoods, even then in the dead of summer, depending on your location, its gonna be a struggle to keep temps 8n the sweet zone

Ya I'm not sure either gonna just have to find out.. I've only got 1 of the 3 mesh vents open on the tent for fresh/cool air.. I just cool the spare bedroom and let the tent pull in cold fresh air.. Room at 67 tent stays at 75..can turn the ac down to 62 and can turn the fan/carbon filter up a lot more... Sooo well just see.. Unless I get a good deal on some cobs then we might not see lol

I've never been a fan of led. Unless it's a quality built one.

Ya same here can't be no cheap viparspectra.. No offense to them because I have seen some ok grows with them, but it's looking like I'm gonna end up with some optic led optic1 cobs.. Maybe their xl, going for it if they can get down to what I can afford, the optic1 is 50w the xl is 100w... Grow on ig, dude pulled like 14oz off 2 xl on 1 autoflower plant.. Rather thro my 2nd 630cmh in one of the new 4x4x7 have coming lol
