I respectfully disagree with the more coverage from a 1k.......less penetration sure, also less canopy flexibility with a single source of light...........hey youngstoner are your HPS ballasts magnetic or digi???? and yes two 400w will do real well in a 4x4/ gonna need a strong exhaust fan...........good luck

500 Watt LED would do better, I know I recently sold my 2x400watts knowing I would never ever use them again. duuno where you live but I had to upgrade vfrom 4'' to 6'' inline fan to run the 2 lights...also I had to use cold fresh air from outside... unless you have cool tube I guess.. but yeah if you wanna run both lights dont fuck around with 4'' , go 6''++
