hey everyone, this is my 1st time growing and i would like to know how long does it take a seed to sprout for the 1st time. its been a few days and i havent seen it yet, i just hope i didnt drown it or i puy it down to deep.. i may have put it down about close to 2 inches. and ive notice videos were not going down that far.. i have it under the t5 24/0.. and i water it about 3 times a day in a grow tent.. thanx everyone

dont water it now. Make the soil wet before the seed goes inside and then cover it with palstic wrap to keep it warm and moist. 3-4 days and it should pop above the soil. 1/2"-1" is plenty deep enough.
i made a grow box for mine... all i did was .. went to walmart and got a small floressent light..( kinda the shape of a rectangle.. it has a switch on the under side... and i got a cardboard box that it fit into...then i lined the box with tin foil... the small amount of heat that the light Gives off..is the perfect temp for the germination. then i get about 7 peices of paper towell and wet them down...i put the seeds inside and usually within 2-4 days the sprout is there... from there i put it in the dirt. it works amazing for me.
NEVER use tin foil, it has too many hot spots in redirecting light and it is a poor reflector, go with the Mylar blannkets at Wal-Mart in the sporting goods section, its their emergency blankets.
the light from the 13 watt bulb is not going to make hot spots ... and its working just fine for me also... that is the only place that i use that type of reflective material anywhere else but in that little box. my small room just has white paint in it. and my Stuff is Growing Very well.
