Here is my first set up with being a new grower. I have a 90wt soft white LED on 6 seedling that I germinated 3/21.
How'd I do? IMG_3523.JPG

You would probably be better with some cfl's man. Get a splitter and run as many as you can fit

Bloody 'ell. You need more light on that, and much closer. The stretch is from weak light. Maybe a cfl for each pot, 2 in above.... at the very least.

but all joking aside, this reminds me of my first grow and that isn't a good thing. :bigjoint:

Here is what I see that needs improvement

1. Need more light

-how much more will be determined by your budget, grow space, plant count, and over all quality you are attempting to produce.

2. That soil needs perlite or something along those lines for aeration

-Side note, it looks like it came from a garden / outside and judging by the over all theme of the set up ( Improvisation > Financial Investment ) I think that is a pretty good guess unless that is coco / soiless of some kind.

-If I'm right about where the dirt came from I would strongly urg you to start over again and not continue the grow in that soil. It could easily cause more problems down the road with potential bugs / pests along with a slew of other issues.

-If it came from a better source then you could salvage your seedlings but I would still recommend a restart instead of a mad scramble to buy equipment to keep up with them. You have only lost 2 weeks tops from the start of germination.

3. Your pots / containers can still work, I have seen people grow in 2 liter bottles before so there is no one perfect container.

-That being said you could buy fabric pots, they have quite a few benefits to you as the grower as well as the plant / root system

4. Combine the ingenuity it took to rig up the fan-hanger-lightchain combo with some research and a few 100$ and I know you will have a successful grow.

5. Sorry if that came across as rude, part of it was definitely meant to be for shock / comedic value but really you show promise in terms of how you solved the problems when constructing this set up on a budget. However if you actually want to produce final product You are going to need to invest more time doing research and money $$.

If you have any questions / want advice on a particular part of growing feel free to ask me. I will try my best to answer / help.

To me if you're going to invest a few months in a grow, no matter how small. It's worth it to spend a few bucks and make sure you get max harvest within your budget. Whether that's $10 or $1000.

Good to hear you got some more light. Does your soil drain okay? Looks like iy could have used some perlite possibly. And yes, coffee time is much better with company :weed:
