1st Timer/Fluorescents?????????????

Hello i am new to this site and new to growing. I have been reading a lot about the lights you need. Most if not all say to use a HPS for flowering. Does anyone know if I use a T5 with 4 warm 4ft bulbs and 13 4ft warm foulrescent stips along the sides and fronts of the plants if my results should be good?? I am only growing 2 plants at a time (Hindu Kush) in a 6ft high 5 1/2 ft long closet. thank you.

for vegging you will need cool lightand for fowering you will need warm light. ive flowered with about 186 watts

I am a big fan of the t5 lights beacuse of what they can do and what they cost to run. . . I had a 4ft/8 bulb, using alternating bulbs, and i was able to yeild 2 1/2 oz. from each of my 2 plants using base neuts, c02, and kool bloom so you should be kosher. If your closet is only 6ft tall then id recomend flipping them (12/12) fairly early and not let them get more than 2 ft. before you do. what type of system do you have?

Ok, so I am done setting up my grow room in a closet space of 6ft tall, 5 1/2 feet in length and about 1ft 9in in depth. I am growing 2 plants (hindu kush) at a time in 9 1/2in square pots under a 4ft 4 bulb T5 lamp, i also have 12 4foot T5 lights verticaly lining the whole room around. This is where my questions come into play.... For the Veg. stage i am using 2 6500K lights an 2 3000K lights in the T5. All 12 of the T5 light strips are also 6500K. For the flowering stage i am going to convert 4 of the T5 strip lights that are in all four corners of the walls to 2300K along with 4 other stips around the grow room. The remaining 4 strips I am going to keep the at 6500K. And for the T5 lamp i am going to have all 3000K lights. I also have all the walls in the room covered in mylar. Can somebody tell me or give me an educated guess if the light set up for the Flowering stage will give me a good yeild, after doing the math its more Lumens than a HPS but not quit the same light spectrum. You never know what is in the pickle barrel until you get the lid off. It sounds like you should do fine with that setup. Good Luck.

I used a 350w LED fro Pro Source Worldwide and supplemented it with T5's all around the plants. I grew 1- G13 Pure Power, 1- G13 Pure Gold, and 1 G13 Skunk #1. Now my plants ended flowering being about 5 1/2 feet tall and I grow in soil and I got about 175g from each plant my first time.

damn, thanks a lil to tall for me, i mean my closet is a little over 6ft and i can adjust the above shelf to make it even taller but the plants im growing shouldt reach over 2 and a half to 3 feet. But shit 6oz a plant is just fine with me.

so is it really all about lumen and watts in my situation??? because if you do the math i have more lumens than a HPS light when it comes time to flower
