1st time growing from egypt

great work everyone, the forum is amazing

this is my 1st time to think about growing, and there is some questions that need to be answered

1st i am from egypt, and here u can get the cheapest weed ever, i get a 50 gram bag for less than 10 dollars!! though the quality of the smoke varies greatly,plus u get the buds seeded to the bones. its all outdoor weed which probably grew naturally by itself. and that were i got the idea of growing. the problem is i have no idea what type of weed or strain am i going to plant, so i'll just give it a try.

on preparing my equipment for the grow, i bought a 10 kg bag of what is supposed to be PEAT MOSS, it costed 15 egy pounds thats almost 3 dollars, could this be real peat moss or some soil mixture considering the price ?

peat moss usually isnt very expensive so it very well could be, u going to be growing outside i imagine?

if there are alot of shitty regs floating around and you belive them to be outdoor grown(i do to) and your weed is verry seedy, that means that the grower has no concern for quality then theres probably alot of male pollen floating around egypt. i wouldnt bouthe getting any dank strains because theyll just end up getting pollenated and full of seeds, thusly lowering potency, like the weed you get off the streets.

honestly, if you get such rediculous deals, id just keep smoking fat hookahs and joints of cheap weed

i am pretty sure thats outdoor, people here grow weed on large scale and primitivly, so yeah...it could be very well low quality outdoor, anyway here is my current status

these are pictures of my growing closet ,dimensions are 170cm Hx150cm Lx 50cm W
i kinda improvised it, coverd the walls with white paper, spread a blanket on the floor and covered it with foil to prevent leakage ( dun want wood rot). attached 6 fixtures on a piece of wood and hung it with rope so i could raise and lower the lights, i put some thermo/hygro meter i found laying around, and i have 3 12cm pots with moss perlite mix, i couldnt find this topsoil stuff here and i didnt want to risk and get some earth soil, i have a 20-20-20 npk fertilizer. and oh yes, these lamps are just for a test run, i'll be getting 3 26w cool white cfls and 3 26w warm whites.

comments suggestions advices are all welcome

and please try to be as basic as possible, i will never find all those brands u guys talk about here, i have a plant shop near my house,but it doesnt really sell any equipment expect pots and peat moss, and i think i could get some earth soil from there (should i ??)

you can grow in any dirt really as long as its sterile, mix some sand, dirt, soil with your peat moss and u should be good 2 go

yes thats exactly the problem ! i doubt i can get any sterile sand or soil here. how can i solve this ! i read that soil gets baked, but i really dont want to to spend so much time baking everytime i plant or for transplanting ! solution please

i would also appreciate if u can comment on my setup,and would my lighting be enough for 3 plants (3x26w cool, 3x26w warm) how about 4 or 5 plants ? HPS or any other heat emmiting light is not an option since its to expensive for me and there is no way i can install a vent fan

well if you check out my grow, i am also using cfl lights from what i have read you should go for an average of 150 watts per plant for optimal results but i have seen many people doing great grows using as little as 23 watts per plant, all depends on how much time you have for doing things like topping, lst or scrog. what would the pest problems be in your area? depending on what bugs are a danger in your area pretty much any type of sand/soil/ or dirt can be used it just takes more care than usual

oh and im sure the weather is warmer in egypt than in canada but with 230 watts of cfl in my closet the only way to keep my temps down is to leave the closet door open

so i guess i'll stay with the 26w plan and see what my results are. u'll make me take the risk of getting some outside soil (i dont really know about the pest conditions), damn am so paranoid about this soil issue,i have no idea about the condition of the soil in the near plant shop,but i guess i should ask them and try it in a pot . scrog sounds like a nice method, maybe i'll try if i even get any healthy seedlings,anyway lets see..seeds are left to germinate now

remember with the warmer climate youll need something besides the peat moss to hold some of the water, peatmoss is great for drainage but it needs to be mixed with something for best results. im not a pro for sure, im still on my first grow but i have researched alot
