1st time growers beware

i have recently harvested my plant and i thought this has got to be the best thing ever but little did i kno about drying. MAKE SURE YOUR BUD IS DRY BEFORE PUTTING IT IN THE JAR! it is better to make sure its dry den thinkin its dry and before putting it in the jar. my bud looks great until i thought it was "dry" and i threw it in the jar and dey came out smellin like grass -_-* and 3 days later i started seeing a little mold so plz dont do the same thing i did still kinda regret it grrrrr but all well still get me STONED lol :]

happened to me with a early tester thaught it was dry and it was but only on the outside still left me whacked.... what weed was it....

i thought that grass smell is normal its the chlorphyl(spelling error probally) leaving it and it will lose that smell and start smelling like good bud by the end of curing....i thought that was the whole point of curing

your bud is dry when the stems snap

yeah but it was still kind of damp and plus it made it look like mids -_-

who cares what it looks like as long as you get high and it taste good. Growing shouldn't be a competition

its best to check for moisture on the lid every once in a while (3-4 times a day) when your first starting curing. that way any problem is noticed soon enough to save your full harvest from all getting mold and ruined.

or are you the guy that wants to get everyone scared about slow drying in jars so they refrain from the 2 week slow drying it takes to have the best mary jane on the block.

you know i have never got past 5 days before it got to dry.
i think this time i will let it air dry for 1 day and a half then in jars. i will open and rotate like throughout day. the key is you want to try to get close to the 14 days slow drying then start the cure.

yeah, it feels wierd but you really gotta tear into a thick nug and be sure its dry on the inside. The smell seems to come and go for me in any case, but the dank look won't go away. Homegrown often smells like grass, actually that can be a good thing 8D

Best part about tearin into the thick nug is smoking it hahaha. Also, make sure you open your jar every day, or twice a day, to make sure it is truly dry and to aerate the bud.

Cynical much? A lot of the smokability of bud is how it is cured, but the dankness is definitely in the plant itself. The best mary jane is a fine mix of both, neither a finely cured shwag or a horribly cured cup winner wins best bud.

I dunno. My nugs smell like some kind of berry. Very fruity. And I smoke it once its dry. 2-3 days in my dry tub and than into jars.

I smoke right out of the jar as it cures. It might be 10 days by time I hit the end of the jar. I also mainly vaporise my weed now so I can't really tell how it cures. 10 days in jars tastes just like a wet nug right off the plant when you vape.

Buds only smell like grass for me right after trimming. By 24 hrs of drying they start to get their smell back. And it gets more intense while in the jars.

I have only harvested this bag seed that is a indica dom hybrid. I have another plant in flower now that looks very sativa. Will see how she smells and drys.

yeah your all right. im just trying to get my shit completely dialed in and when i do i will share it with others and i think the cure really goes well past 2 months. it just gets better and better every few days and so on.
