1st time grower with Q's

hey, i've read the FAQs, got myself a copy of "Marijuana Horticulture" the grower's bible, but i still have a few questions:

my plants just sprouted maybe 4-5 days ago. ive been running them under four 100w replacement CFLs.

1. how do i move the plant to a bigger pot without damaging it and when should i do it?

2. how much should i be watering it right now? i've been watering it with distilled water mixed with some foxfarm's grow big.

i mist it in the morning VERY lightly. everywhere i look, people keep warning of overwatering, but should i be worrying about that in these early stages?

the soil level has dropped dramatically in the small pot. i think the moisture in the soil is mostly gone; is that a sign for me to soak it?

3. would it be good for me to put the plants under natural sunlight on a windowsill or something during the day? (then move them back under the CFLs once the sun sets)

sorry for all the questions, but i've gotten pretty excited about all this

For seedlings, it is very important that the soil has enough moisture for rooting but its true overwatering is a major factor to watch (don't do it). Really, the humidity is more important in the first 2 weeks than watering is.. I would say you should only water (completely drench the soil) about every 4th day but keep the humidity above 50%.
More critical than anything at this stage is light though.. make sure those cfls are as low as possible (get them as close to the plants as possible without burning them)..
stop misting them at night (not needed)..
for transplanting - you really only need to do it maybe after the second week depending on what container you used to start with.. just break the soil away from the main root mass and put it in the new pile of soil.. don't snap or break any of the roots (if a couple of them seperate, thats fine).. leave the soil that is stuck on the roots on there and just move the main root mass/ball.. good luck!

dude, growing cannabis is such an excitng hobby..just stick around thois fourm and soak up all the info!@!@!@

1.some say rootbound is a state of mind..ive seen hude yielding plants fisnished in small beer cups!! however, buy a product call superthrive, add one drop of superthrive per gallon, and just gently flip the pot over..catch the entire rootmall gently, and just tranplsnat in the bigger pot..once its in there, drecnh the soil with the superthrive mix..it prevents transplant shock, buy it at walmart, home depot,etc....

2.the plants are WAYYY to young for nutesa..DO NOT use nutes right now!! only the r.o water....it will cause nute burn,so watch out!! start using nutes at a 1/2 sternght once the first bottom leaves start getting yellow!! at this point, use a high nitrigen fertilizer!!

3.chances are the sun in the windowl sill is not DIRECT sunlight,so the plant might strech...and if it IS full sun, then the plant will be shocked if u keep chaning them bak n forth!!just keep em under the cfls..but keep the light CLOSE to the plants!!

how many plants cause if they are only 20w cfls you should have about 3 lights per plant and you will have to get better ones when the plants gets bigger check ebay they have good ones. and you should also check if the cfls you have are over about 4000k because its better for the plants until flowering when you use 2700k

They are so cute when they are little

For vegging you will want Bright white lights or something around 6500k, switch to warm light and as close to 2700k as you can get.

Those CFLs look to be about 26w(100W equiv) and they should be okay for a while. You might want to add some as the plants grow. When you go to 12/12 you diffently will need more lights depending on how many are in flower.

Good luck and let us know how things are going.
