fertilizers usually get tilled or mixed in with the dirt, you can add plant food like fox farm or miracle grow wich you just add to water appropriatly.

like the above person said, start with a 1/4 dose (it might seems like a tiny amount) and then if they do well for a couple feedings at that dosage you can increase the dosage to 1/2, i wouldnt increase the dosage any more than 1/4 of the original recomended dosage at a time and you should stay at the same dosage for a few feeding before you increase it again.

plant food or nutes as they like to call them does the same thing as a fertilizer the only difference is the fertilizer is used before planting and generally expected to last throughout the growing season,

i.e most big farms fertilize thier cornfields with cow manure, they rototill it into the ground then plant thier crops and do not ever feed them any plant foods, the fertilizer maintains nutrients for the plant for the whole season.

with plant food, it is super concentrated and already broken down into a form the plant can use so you cant just give a large dose and not have to feed them again you will kill them

from what i read MJ will utilize almost anything you feed them (plant food wise) as long as you dose them correctly and increase the dosing realisticly.

during the veg stage you plant will want a food that is higher in Nitrogen because that is the element plants use to produce green vegatation.
during the flowering stage you need P&K (potassium and Phosforus) and little to no nitrogen anymore so you will want to pick up 2 different kinds of food.

on the plant food package you should see a number that looks similar to this 10-10-10. The numbers stand for the percentage by weight of the three largest amount of elements or chemical compounds found in the fertilizer. The first number stands for Nitrogen. Nitrogen is important for making chlorophyll. This is the green pigment that plants use to make sugars. The second number stand for Phosphate (P2O5). This is important for flower production. If the second number is high it should help the plant bloom. The third number stand for Potash or Potassium (K20). This helps in root production.

hope this helps :)

Its impossible to answer the question specifically, since you didn't say what kind of fertilizer you're using. "Pellets" isn't enough information.

But in general, to use the fertilizer, the first and most important step is to simply follow the directions on the package.

You can start off with less then the recommended amount and make sure you don't use too much.

If you're using a soluble fertilizer (like Miracle-Gro) then you will need to mix it to the right concentration, dissolve it in water and then use it to water the plants. If you're using a long-acting slow-release type fertilizer, you'll either sprinkle it on top of the soil, or mix it in with the soil. If you are using a slow-release type fertilizer, then you shouldn't need to use it very often. . .maybe once a month or LESS, again, follow the directions on the package.

That looks like an organic fert, to be mixed in the soil. Chemical salt ferts are mixed in water. Show the entire bag to avoid this confusion, please.
It looks like a great vegging fertilizer.

firstly jogro id like to say NEVER go by the directions on he packet...... you will burn at full strength if its the 1st feed. only use at full strength if you have built up to that amount over a period of a month or more... my nutes (greenhaze grow/bloom 2 part feed) at full strength is ec/cf 2.0 , im now 4 wks into flower and im at an ec/cf of 2.8 BUT this is ONLY because ive worked up to this strength.. if i started at ec/cf 2.0 i wud burn n kill my ladies so again NEVER go with directions on the packet @ first....

if you click on your name on the left hand side you can click the link to view all threads started by you so you can find it, as long as people cont to post in the thread it will be on the first page.

baisicly what happens is when someone posts on a topic it gets pushed up to the first post....as time goes by other threads get pushed up above it and yours gradually sinks down.

also if the fert u have is supposed to be mixed in with the dirt, @ 8 days you can still do that, just make sure you are carefull. the plant has not yet developed a root ball that will hold all the soil together, what i would do being extremely gentle, i would get another bucket slightly larget than what you have them planted in now, and slowly dump the loose soil into the bigger bucket (have someone help you so you dont dump your plant. mix up what you need into the soil in the larger bucketand then dump back into original pot. after all the loose soil is in the original pot dig a hole and put your plant back in. like i said be extremely carefull doing this if it is the route you want to go, too much light on the roots can damage them so keep as much soil on them as you can and try to break as little as possible. this will stress your plant a little but being only 8 days otd it will recoup quickly.

if you dont want to do this method then just return the bag of fert you have (or keep for a later grow and remember to add before you transpant) and find some organic water sol fert and just use that this grow.

this is a water sol organic fert, http://www.groworganic.com/organic-biolink-3-3-3-gal.html

will be good for veg stage, and could probally use it throuought entire grow if you wanted to it will still do you good
