I guess ill just buy a 600w mh hood and hang it from two shower curtain poles in bathtub.. I need a large enough light space to cover the plants as I have to start flowering some

Can someone tell me if I need to put my plants into flowering how i'm correctly transition the light change from 24 hours to 12. Thanks I need to make this change very very soon! Any recommended times to flower are appreciated as well . I was thinking 9-9 or something like that

Ya just switch your timer from on 24 hours to 12/12 pick the on/off times and stick with 'em the remander of the grow.
Currently I don't have a timer it's just plugged in As it doesn't require to be shut off . Should I just decide the hours for 12/12 and set it, no need to put them in 24 hrs of dark first or anything? Thanks for reply fire killa. I'm at hemp fest and plan on putting them in dark tomorrow at 10 pm and then running 10-10 schedule.

Ya some people say "it speeds up flowering" I haven't done it and won't try it (it just seems like a waste of growing time ya know. And giving that you have been vegging for a bit they will naturally show sex and start flowering faster. Although I would highly recomend you getting a timer keeping the same lights on time through the remainder of the grow is a key factor to not getting hermies. And wow I'll be running a 10-10 as well pretty cool huh?? When are you planning on flipping like what day? Cause I'm gonna be flipping very soon as well. My lady is on day 29 veg what are yours at again?

Ok nevermind I went back and found out. So ya we are about neck and neck here. Cept my style of grow is a bit different. This should be fun, we should flip 12/12 the same day and keep track of shit hahaha. Here is a pic of my lady at day 28 veg so yesterday hope you don't mind. Ok sounds good ya your gonna be about a week ahead of me. Imma keep my lady in veg for another week and start 12/12 next sunday. I just started some LST so I can keep her at a manageble level. Ummm as for the flower nutrients you can hold off till you see the first signs of flowering. Give 'em small doses of veg nutrients till you see the first pistil.
Well I think they aer showing pre flowering signs for females in a few and I also think 2-3 may be hermies.. I have never done this however some nodes where new growth looks to be occuring u can see hairs that are distinct and yet in a few others it looks as though they are forming more thickly in that region rather than JUST hairs like some others however its hard to determine exactly because it looks as though what looks thicker could be just new leaves growing but i have this weird thought that 2-3 are hermies and I'm wanting to figure this out so I can avoid and un wanted pollen spreading.

Hmmm I'm really doubting you have hermies or that they are even showing sex now. Sorry I just don't see that possible on 24hrs light and them only being close to 40 days old. If its the two stigmas you find at every node on the plant then no those aren't preflowers. Get some pics up of what your talking about so I can see also.
A male preflower will have balls literally BALLS, and a female will be a triangle cone shaped thing with an obvious white hair sticking out of it. It is inbewteen where new growth comes out and the leaf node. Those longer pointy things on the side of the plant is not preflowers.

Ill get pics up tonite.. One plants got hairs on top even diff colored hairs my biggest worry is male pollenation

The males aren't going to pollinate for a while. They will only pollinate during flowering and after they have dropped the sacs. They don't release it till the sacs open you have a lot of time. Don't go jumping to conclusions on things just yet. I'm dying to see some pics cause words isn't doing anything my man.
ya i wanted to get pics up last nite to get some input today.. i was so late to get home last nite then had loads of work and watering to do so ya ill get them up asap tonite and wait IMPATIENTLY to see what u think

Ya man I hear ya I gotta close tonight at work so I won't be getting of until midnight atleast......... oh well fuck it I'll be on after work to check the pics bro.
Im a little nervous about turning the light off for 12 hours and going dark? Only because of few light leaks in the tent zippers and so forth. Should I be worried as long as no lights are on inside the tent and its zipped up all the way? Anything to be cautious of.. Once again want to avoid male pollenation if at all possible.
had a few issues earlier. switched lights tripped a breaker whole room went black.. real shitty.. uhm got the veg room lights back on and the light in the tent. finally got everything running on another outlet quickly as possible with extension cord then fixed breaker just needed reset and its all good. however green fire what do u think about using a pioneer IV jr with 4 t5s to veg plants? at least until I can afford another hood and ballast to run that mh in the bathroom..i figured it would do alright with that t5 setup. anyways I WILL post pics tomorrow. had even more hell of a time messing with these timers i had.. luckily i had 2 the digital one i figured oud and tested then went to bring it to plug ballast into it and it wouldnt even turn on plugged into the wall like the timer was a complete piece of shit. sure hope everything turns out ok with these

I'm telling you they cannont pollinate until the sacs have dropped and opened, and if you can't tell by then my friend well basically don't quit your day job. As for the t-5 yes that would be a great idea for veg. I'm betting you'll wanna keep the t-5 over switching to the higher power usage mh. I really need to see some pics man.
