Sup guys, I'll be starting my first grow pretty damn soon, just finished my 6'x3'x2' box. Fans are all good, just stuck on what lights I need for a good CFL grow.

Ive read a ton of threads and it seems like there is no real concensus on which type to use during veg/flower. 23W daylight? Im planning on at least having 10 CFL's going for 2 plants.

best bet is to mix both spectrums of light, red and blue (i think its 2700K is red and around 6100K is blue but i grow with HID)

but i promise the girls will love it and the buds will be dank if u mix em up. maybe 2 red and 3 blue veg and 3 red and 2 blue flower??

Thanks Fuzzy; So no need to seperate light spectrums like MH/HPS? Didnt know if it was better to veg with 2700's and flower with the 6500's but it sounds like it doesnt really matter. Thanks bro bongsmilie

now the red spectrum of light will help fill out some dencity to the buds as the blue will help with your potency and trike production well in MH/HPS it does, like i said not TOOO sure of them CFL's but i would put my bets that im not far off tho. remember in the end it IS just light!

and no problem!

Depends on if your planning on planting standard (regular or feminized) or auto flowering with standard i'd say both but with auto flowering you could just user 2700k as auto's don't really veg at all.

Light spectrum is not nearly as important as light lumens. I run 6 40w CFL's in 6500k and 2 68w CFL's in 2700k start to finish on 4 plants in a 2x3x3 box. I have 24000 lumens on 4 plants and I couldn't care less what the spectrum is the will veg and flower just fine.

Spectrum much more important than lumens, and while you don't care you have the right mixed spectrum for veg (should be reversed for flower)

Have you considered using HPS? You can do it in your room if you set it up right. This cabinet is about the same size as yours, you have to learn to deal with the heat, but it is do'able.

You'll also want to go bigger than 23 watts, for bloom, or you won't get buds that are very dense. Go with at least 42 watts, and the 65-68 if you can.
