1st tent

Those switches are just there to make the grower think they have some kind of dual mode light. Both of those switches should be turned on and left on all the time. Stoners think they have something neat if there are switches for them to play with. These lights are marketed to cannabis growers. Switches, shiny labels, and cool sounding names sell more product.

Thanks for that
Again I am only growing to make a bit of tincture.
Not looking to produce for selling though part of me would like to make some of the investment back......
So what I invest in the setup has to come out of what I "save" by not buying tincture via via

My tent is only a 120x60x150 (4x2x5) and being half the size 2 very familiar looking boxes, half yours, should suffice.... for now
I will look into the system you have there....

Running cost wise
You went from 4x 300 1200 Watt to 1500Wyoyr monthly running cost would have gone up by £25a month during Veg ;)

I know it is a trade off and I am only new to this some of the terminology *burps?) ...
But there is a science bit behind it too
Yes I am underlighting at the moment and that will be resolved tomorrow

I had a look at the 6 bar from GoDaddy and that is right out of my price range for now (Though 3 bar should be enough)

@Lockedin i presume that "blurp"of GD has the same issues as the chinese stuff or are we definitely talking better quality?

And then there is the 2 expences:
Buying and running
The once off cost of buying... well I either do or dont... its the running cost I am trying to keep down with a bit of research

We are ex smokers so this is tincture and maybe some cookies & butter..... Having heard what an ounce costs ... 2 ounces would get me my investments back in bud
I'm in the same boat, just a bit further downstream. It's taken over a year to get even this little tent going!
Sorry about the terminology - blurple, burple, burps = red / blue lights. And I don't mean to bash the performance of those lights at all (some will).
They can grow great weed (mine do!) - they just SUCK to look at. Also, the varying wattages & sizes make even lighting impossible.
Put a work light in your tent to save your eyes.

The GrowDaddy fixtures are brand new - maybe 100 hours on them in total. The fixtures are all white Sun Boards running the older LM561c diodes - a mixture of (4) 2,700k (warm white) and 6,500k (cool white). - Brightness on a budget!
So far the plants seem to love them, and my eyes appreciate the real-world colors for diagnosing plant health.
-----------

It's been a process for me to get these tents built & furnished as I want them to be, but I think that doing it this way forces an education I wouldn't receive otherwise & I've become grateful for it.

Post up a grow journal - there are a lot of growers here in your (our) situation - ballin' on a budget - that will be happy to give you all the help you need to start making your own tinctures.

Mine are dimmers - waaaaaaay better than switches! :P
Riiiiiiiiiight - maybe if I had 6 of them. Mine were dialed to 100% right after they got their true leaves (a week). I kept adding and adding after that....

Now that makes sense

120Leds at 10W is 1200W, Light is measured in Lumens ;)
These switches seem to be present on systems from $200 - $2000

Again anyone here with the biology or physics knowledge to make a coherent explanation?
I was taught "Lumens are for Humans" - PAR is the value you should pay attention to, however most burples from China won't have that info

Yep try to take a picture and you can actually see there is a flicker
I have my 2nd light in .... identical... I'm a bit OCD like that and I indeed nearly doubled the ammount of Lumen... also raise the temp by 4C
The air vent I have was btw way to string for the tent (4x volume) so I stuck a little dimmer into place and run it at 50% power

I must have been looking at the wrong lights can you PM me a link as 1300 is not my budget ;)

My AK47 Girls are happy though the cat took 1 bottom fan leaf out of one when I was hanging the light... down to 6 lives so he is

The Hollands hope are a bit slow coming up nr 2 out of 3 is just coming out of its jiffy (they will go outside as soon as there is 3 sets of real leaves

The Kalini and Chili...could go outside according to my sources but I might just flip them after my AK's are done.

I am not going near topping fimming LSTetc this grow and ... apparently little point on autos (but if anyone can correct me on that please do )
The idea of getting 2-4 cola's off 1 plant is in theory interesting ...
I mean 2-4 seeds/plants vs 8 seeds/plants ...is it worth the efford and risk... do you really get that much more, but that wil be another thread

LOL right you are plenty there that we dont see , then again few here would consider warmth/heat = light.
Lum &Par do have an overlap though

Here's the link:

This is the kit I bought:

Mine are ( 8 ) 2,700k and ( 4 ) 6,500k - Flowering spectrum. I'm hoping to add some far red / IR bars to the fixture soon.
