1st Real Grow: Aurora Indica

Hi there, folks. This is my first real grow. The first 3 grows when very wrong... Well, the first one I had a Sensi Star clone that went ridiculously hermie due to very inconsistent light schedule. Then the next two grows from bag seed turned out to be male... Bummer!!!
This time I have all the setup: lights, timers, contactor, etc... so I bought some regular Nirvana's Aurora Indica seeds because I've read that it is a very forgiving strain so just in case I mess up again there's not much chance that I'll lose everything, Again :).

So I'm using Westland+ with added JI as my grow medium. I haven't mixed anything to it, using it as is. I have a 250w HPS with Sunmaster dual spectrum bulb. The temperatures with lights on sometimes reach 85F (~30C) and drop to as low as 68F (~20C). I've got 2 pc fans blowing directly on the lights to keep them cool, another pc fan blowing at the ballast to keep it as cool as possible, 1 more pc fan for intake and 2 bathroom fans at the top as an exhaust.
The humidity is constant 21-23% but since the girls are still very young I have DIY humidity domes over them to help them transpire.

Any comments/suggestions/questions are welcome. You can even post pics of your grows of any strain, preferably from similar setups like mine. Enjoy this journal. I'll try to keep it updated regularly.

Here's a layout for the whole things:

I've started with 5 seeds on 20 November. 1 didn't sprout, 1 more sprouted but died very early, and the other 3 are growing. On 27 November I started with 2 more seeds to give me more chances of getting females.

From what I've noticed there are a lot of differences in phenos from the very beginning on all the seedlings.

There's pic of individual plants:

The seedling in the last picture looks 'retarded' and it is the same age at the other 2 biggest ones. I know it looks weird but I'm going to grow it out no matter what because I've read around and noticed that the ones that start weird quite often have monster yields and/or monster potency.

Well that's all for now...:)

Let the comments begin :)

I tried some of that Aurora Indica last week.
Make sure you have good odor control. It's very skunky.
A good body stone. Good luck.

I have a DIY carbon filter but I'm not using it at the moment because the babies are not stinky yet.

Thanks :)

Aurora Indica is on my list of strains to grow. Will be following this one, man. Good luck. And Happy New Year!

So this is an update on the "special" one :)

Notice growth out of the cotyledon's node. I've never seen growth from there. Any comments on what's going on? I'm not stressing over this just curious on how often his happens :)

All the leaves on this seedling are very small, very dry looking but if I look closed the leaves themselves are not dry just seem like their PACKED with trichomes.

What's up Evil Muff. I started a grow around the same time as you so I will be following yours to compare progress. I started about 5 bagseeds in some FFOF about a week and a half ago. When 3 of the seeds sprouted I put them into my pc growbox on a 12/12 light schedule this past Wednesday. It got too hot in the growbox and 2 of the 3 seedlings shriveled up and died and the survivor grew about 4 inches. I repotted it into a 22 oz plastic cup and put it nice and close to my lights. It's been doing well ever since. I threw a few more seeds in the pc in a separate tupperware container to see if I can get a few more seedlings to sprout. I'd like to have 3 plants vegging in there and pray that at least one of them is a female.
Good luck with your grow and check out mine in my sig.

Here's another picture of the creepy one. Look closely at the node where catolydons are, there seems to be another 2 catolydons (rounded leaves) coming out. I'm so proud of this one lol, she (hopefully) looks terrible but keeps on fighting and she's full of surprises.

So it's been about 3 weeks since I've started the seeds and about 2.5 weeks of growth for 3 of the AI and about 2 weeks since start (~1.5 weeks of growth) for the other 2 of them. I've had some heat stress due to lights being too close but nothing too bad.
Here's some pics of the oldest ones:

The plant in the seconds pic looks like it has some overwatering issues but nothing to be too worried about.

This one is also ~3 weeks old but as ZenithXalaga put it, it's a Frankenstein Mary :P:

Check out the weird leaf growth, they split at the ends :) I know there weren't any damage it's just the way it decided to grow lol.

These are ~2 week olds:

The one in the first pic had the most visible heat stress (curling leaves)

This is what all of them look together:

I've raised the lights a couple of inches to keep the temp lower so all the affected girls should recover in the next few days.

I'm using approximately 1gal pots and I want to start flowering soon, probably at the end of next week, do you guys think that these pots will be enough until I find out who's male and who's female? I'll repot all females to 3gal pots to sustain them for the rest of the flower cycle.

P.S. All the plants are about the same shade of green it's just my phone camera isn't that great but I do my best with what I've got :)

I really like Indica's leaves, they're freaking FAT :)
