Dude, what did you expect when you start getting into something like cloning? Did you think you were going to be successful the very first time?!? C'mon, dude I know you are not that naive. Take, for example, my growing partner who started cloning and lost a bunch every time he cloned. Now he clones with 80-100% success rate without an easy cloner or similar machine. It takes practice, and even though it seems contradictory, it is really, really beneficial to get things wrong. You know what NOT to do and for me that sticks in my brain much more than what I should do. I rarely, if ever, repeat a mistake. I take every opportunity to learn from my fuck ups and I hope you will too.
Idk berkman.. Maybe I am that naive.. I didn't really expect to "master" the art of cloning on my 1st attempt.. But I have seen people clone with little to no effort or expense, so I didn't think it was irrational to think I could get 1 out of 5 clones to root given that I have seen a million videos, & followed all cloning guidelines (sterile blade, clone-ex, humidity dome, no nutes in soil, misting daily etc).. 1 out of 5 is only 20% success rate & I didn't think it was impractical to think I would get 1.(I thought I would atleast get 1 right by mistake lol) .. But with all that said, my clones are still not dead, & honestly they all look just as hood as when I cut them (with the exception of 2 which have a little yellowing on the leaves) & I also must admit that my second batch of clones looks way healthier.. I kinda 4got about them since I was so worried about the 1st batch. But they look strong,(prob cuz the 2nd batch had sturdier stems than the 1st).. & as far as the mistakes go.. We are the same, I try and remember all mistakes so I will not repeat them.. But in this experiment I think I had way too many variables that could have caused the lack of success. First my room temp is about 75 & I know it should be about 80-85 to clone at a successful rate, 2. I may have just cloned too early in the plants life cycle, 3. I cleaned out an old spray bottle to mist plants but fear I never really got 100% of the chemicals out of the bottle, & 4. My personal favorite. Maybe I just suck at life.. Whatever the case, I will not attempt cloning any more this grow. Maybe next time
Idk berkman, maybe I am that naive.. I knew I wasn't really going to "master" the art of cloning lol.. However I did believe I would have atleast 1 rooted clone by now.. Initially I took 5.. So I didn't think 1 would be impractical.. It's only a 20% success rate I was hoping for. And granted I am a newbie (kinda feels like telling my friends in highschool I was a freshman lol) I still thought I could get 1.. I see people use straight water and have better results, so I figured if if I follow all cloning protocol (clean sterile blade, clon-ex, no nutes in soil, far away from hid light, fairly warm spot) I could have some success.. Now, with that said.. My clones are still not dead!! Still don't look any worst than when I put them in (most of them atleast) do I dint completely know that it was a failure.. I also must admit that I was so worried about my 1st batch of clones I kinda forgot about the 2nd batch. And they look even better than the 1st honestly (I think prob cuz they had sturdier stems).. Either way, won't be taking any more clones this grow, maybe next. & I admit I should have listened to the rollitup community.. I still hope I can get atleast 1 to root soon though so I can have a little piece of mind about cloning & would need it to hurry cuz I think about flowering more & more each day & will prob start flowering in a week tops.. I'm really anxious to never see a seed again (unless I'm planting it) and I just can't pay that $20 for 0.8 anymore. I smoke way too much for that. So I really need a harvest asap. I've also been considering the stretch during the first 2 weeks of flowering & I wonder if my 400 watt hps Will reach the bottom branches of my plants if they grow to 3+ feet.. I measured today. CC-17 inches GLP-8 inches, & the WW is 6-7 inches.. But I'm not gonna lie.. My biggest overall factor is I wanna smoke, atleast I tell the truth
