In simple terms yes, you could probably grow a plant inside that case, but the chance of you getting enough bud for you, much less your friend as well is wishful thinking. the problem you're going to run into, besides heat and height is width. you've only got 7.5" of room and considering some of my fan leaves on a plant that's only 10" tall are as large as my hand, you can imagine they're not gonna have anywhere to go and that's gonna put stress on the plant. Also, plants double in size when you go from vegetative stage to flowering stage, and a seedling is already about 2" tall, so by the time you have a decent little plant it's gonna be 6 or 7" tall and be as tall as the case when it's budding and that means no room for the lights. cfl's are great, but they still get hot. My best advice would be to try and find like a night stand, or a small piece of furniture, maybe an old dorm room refridgerator, etc. the problem with comp. cases is size, it is possible to get a plant to grow healthy and bud in there, but you're not gonna get a whole lot and it's still gonna take the same amount of time as a large grow room. goodluck with the grow, and explor RIU.com, there's tons of info. and the people are very helpful! goodluck!
