1st Grower Needs Help On Purple Growing

What's Good Everybody ?

I am a very first frower and I need some advices here.
First of all I'd like to tell you that I gathered all my information about growing on the net. Since I receive free seeds (Purple Power and Persian Bud) I thought it would be fun to grow my own weed. I bought a 250w HPS set for 32bucks from an ex-grower (I heard it was a good deal). I was thinking about using it to complete a 16/8 cycle with light from the sun.

I started germinating seeds, it took a week (maybe because the purple power has really small seeds) but the first one worked fine so far.

Here are my questions :

- This first sprout had too much sun when I put it outside one day (2 pics attached). The first leaves kinda curled on themselves and started losing their green color.
I thought it would die on me but the stem is still very green and keep growing (but slower like 1 or 2 mm per day).
What could happen to this young girl ? Is it still a viable plant ? Should I use my 250 HPS on it instead of the sun ?

- I planted 4 other seeds in soil yesterday, they're in a humidity dome but I don't know if I am supposed to start using my 250 HPS on them before they sprout or not.

- Would it be stress for the plant to alternate sunlight and HPS Light when it is still a sprout (or even during the vegetative state) ?

- I don't know much about nutrients but somebody gave me some kind of nutrient sticks to use. These are 13.5.9 on NPK levels. Is it good to use ? For which period ?

Well that's it, my objective would be to start growing Purple Widow seeds in 2 months if everything goes well with my first ones.

Thanks yall. ++

Looks like just a stem. if the leaves are completely shot, the plant will probably die. A healthy seedling should have two oval leaves with normal looking leaves starting to sprout out of the middle of those two oval leaves. I know the picture is bad, but i see no leaves so i say chances are slim. good luck though

some tips: cooler temperatures produce purple bud (with right genetics), so when flowering try and keep your room cooler, at least in the dark period

try using either 24/0 or 20/4 light cycles for vegging, this is what people generally use. I use 24/0.

Dont use nutes on seedlings. at least wait a couple weeks and give them small doses to start.

dont put the hps right on the seedlings, keep a little distance.

I would use the light you bought, just place it kinda far from the seedlings, bring the light closer as the days go by 24/0 20/4 or 18/6 are all fine for vegging.I recommend buying water soluble nutrients (ex. fox farm ,Botanicare line products).Don't use those sticks, and you don't need nutrients yet.

The stem had these 2 small oval leaves and 2 normal leaves inside but the sun actually hurt them really bad.
They might have been shot down but the stem is still green and has more and more hair, so i was just hoping to see it revive again.

Time will tell I guess.

Thanks for the info.

Yea it may possibly grow back. Also you did get a good deal with the HPS but people don't start using their hps untill the plant is about 3 weeks old so it won't get fried. People use CFL's or fluorescent tubes with a 6500k rating (light spectrum is blue) then they go on to their hps after the plant is a couple inches tall. Or simply they just use the CFL's for the whole vegging period (period where plant is growing but not producing bud) then use their hps for 6-7 weeks of flowering (the period where the bud we love to smoke is being made by the weed). Don't feel bad about that happening, it was your first grow.

Is it bad for the plant to give her sunlight during the day and articificial light at night ?

I don't know if it would cause stress on "her" or if it is a good thing to enjoy direct sunlight.

I don't know the answer to if it's bad, but I'm doing that now accidentally. She's in the sun all day and under a bluish street light all night. When she starts to flower, I'm going to have to cover her with a barrel or shoot out the street light.

Well let us know what the result is gonna be, it could be very interesting to know about it.
Shooting out the street light is kind of exterme though LOL.

BTW, Did anybody have a weed stem that took more than 2 weeks for the first 2 leaves to appear ?
