1st Grow With CFLs

Strain: Big Bud X Skunk #1
Plants: 3 (hopeful) females from feminized seeds
Lighting: 1x 125W 6500k CFL and (soon) 6x 42w CFLs
I am just now starting a grow log 3.5 weeks in.

Day 5:

No pics, but the plants starting sprouting about 3 days from seed.

Day 6:

My cat killed one of my 4 plants, by knocking ALL of them over, soil spilled everywhere, it was tragic.

Here are the 3 survivors.



Day 10:

I planted the jiffy cups into 2 gallon pots. They have got a little bigger in the last 4 days. We now clearly see the serrated leaves! But I think my plants have gotten some heat stress, or soil issue, still haven't figured out what causes this.



Day 13:

They are really starting to take off. However still having soil/heat issues.



Day 19:

Upgraded to a grow tent. Still growing at a good pace. What is up with the leaves!?




Day 22:

Getting bigger by the day, it's hard to tell if you stare at them every day.

Here is Day 26

Watered them and gave them 1/2 strength liquid karma. They are really outgrowing that light. It might be enough for 2 plants right now, but not 3. My 6 CFLs should get here tomorrow I hope.

Aight so heres a big update, I've got a flowering light now, and wanted to jump into a perpetual grow, so I have moved one of the three away from her sisters in my closet to be a mother , and I am taking clones, no clone machine yet, def. plan on getting it cause I don't expect all the clones I take to even root, I don't know what I am doing just a newbie trying to copy everyone else.

Flowering Room -The light I built myself it has 4 42w CFL 2700k so that's 168 watts I think.



Uh oh, plant sickness!? Heat stress?!

lookin good =) although i strongly recommend upgrading to some HIDs

I dunno yet, outside temps here are like 100+ and I am lucky to get the grow room down to 88 with those cfls.

those are bomb ass fuck short and bushy great job so far

there lookin awesome get some plant rooting hormone powder clean the cliping ends and dab it in the rooting powder an put it in some water in a non see through glass/beaker so no light gets to the roots they should start rooting then pop them in a pot with soil all sorted

I got a liquid rooting compound with 4 clones sitting in cubes they seem to be keeping healthy.
Anyone know when I will be able to see their female parts?

sweet man should be alright then im not sure wen they'll start showin sex from clone but if the plant you cloned them off is a female then so will they

well I dumped those clones, cause I learned that I have to keep them in the rooting liquid for at least a minute but i only dipped them for a second and the bottoms of the stems were black and showed no roots at all so i started over with just 1 clone

well unlucky man but we live and learn good luck with the next one

I am gonna gather some pics soon they have been growing well! I just wanted to share that I managed to reduce temps in my tent down to 82F using a home-made contraption, with an intake fan and exhaust fan which circulate air through ice water. it works quite well and the water stays cool for several hours.
