Hey everyone,
I'm currently on day 42 of flower (soil) and a couple of my blackberry plants have got a few amber coming in not many, but a few and I'm wondering if anybody has any opinions on when to start flushing?

I wouldnt base ripeness solely on trich color. 42 days is way too early to start thinking about flushing. I flush for the last 5 days.

Which blackberry? A few are indica dominate and a few are sativa dominate. Could mean the difference between a week 8 harvest or a week 11 harvest.

I hate amber so I tend to chop as soon as I see amber as long as there is mostly cloudy, but like bigv said trich colors are not all the factors, although for me it is the main. Are your fans mostly yellowing or at least light green? Are the white pistils mostly receded and not white anymore? Do some our your true leaves have a dark and/or purplish color? So many factors to decide. Just because you see a few amber trichs doesn't mean you will see more tomorrow or next week, amber can take many weeks to spread.

Without pictures I can only say if there is mostly cloudy and only 5-10% clear or half cloudy then I'd cut. It takes a few harvests to understand a strain. At 42 days from 12/12 I'd say wait another 2 weeks, if 42 days 'from signs of first white pistils' which is usually 10-14 days into flower I'd cut in a week. But it's all guessing being I'm not there.

That's what i thought way early.. Was just kinda curious about opinions on when others start their flush ,but i think i need a better loupe or microscope tho. I just noticed what i thought to be them lastnight and checked again and it seems like may just be the purple leaves making some of the triches look amber, but aren't. Ill post some pics soon too tho and I been trying to figure out which blackberry also. I think I'm just gettin anxious but no none yellow yet and many are purple.

I prefer to flush for atleast 10 days before I chop, and I also like to give them 2-3 days of no water at the end of the flush... That way the plant uses up some or most of its stored moisture in the main stem and fan leaves.
You gotta look at how fast the trichs are maturing and kinda do some math guessing and work backwards from your estimated chop date... What I'm trying to say is the trichs will keep maturing during your flush, so you don't wanna start wicked late.

Another thing I have seen people do here is check trichs under their grow lights. HPS puts out an orange light so guess what color your trichs will look. Not saying that applies here but I just thought it was a good thread to mention it in.
