Ok I learned something today. This apparently is where I wanted to start my grow journal.:joint::? Now that i got that solved, here is a bit of my layout. 3x2x3 grow area, with 4in active air inline fan and all ducting to exhaust in a second soundproofed compartment of the grow box. This is a stealth grow as I don't want my kids stumbling upon it. I'm a legal patient, blah , blah, so no worries about leo. Anyway I'm using a lumatek 250w dimmable ballast with small umbrella style open hood. 2 active air carbon scrubbers provide clean air exchange, and I have a couple Menards mini fans, one blowing between the canopy and the light and one blowing through the canopy. Using GH flora series with Liquid Koolbloom and Floralnectar. Choose the hempy method because of the sticky on this site, and the ease of use. Not been disappointed so far. Plants are blackjack and strawberry doubledutch both from clone. The strawberry clone was much larger at the start and I tried to chop her down to size but she just grew into a beastly bush while the blackjack has stayed smaller and much tamer, almost looks like a bonzai tree. Using clones is always a guessing game with what you really have so I'm not positive if this is a real blackjack, and I've never fuckin heard of strawberry doubledutch, but both are chronic so I guess it doesn't really matter to me, I just wish more people were consistent with there clones. Growing small scale here just cuz I wanted to grow some. Not worried about how much I'll get just want to learn from this process and improve form here. Already figure to grow 2 the same strain with slightly larger screens and more veg time. Anyway heres some pics of my setup along with some early plant pics mixed with some pics of em 11 days into flower.

2 weeks in both plants look healthy. Gave them a slightly more aggressive nute mix and they seem to have taken it well. Seen what might be a slight bit of tip curl on the blackjack but appears to be gone or at least better. Changed my supplemental cfl setup and made a DIY light bar with an old plastic clipboard, some leftover refletix from my attic redo, and a surge plug strip. This keeps the cfl's on my plants and out of my way so I like it so far. Gonna keep an eye on my venting as this thing seems to disrupt my airflow a little bit. Seems allright tho so I think I'm good. Once again I am growing blackjack and strawberry doubledutch, the blackjack is the smaller, broader leaf one and the strawberry is the big, bushy one. This is 14 days into 12/12, I'll update weekly at least or when I see noticeable change. They look to be puffing up a little bit since my last post. Cheers. :joint:

Thanks for the sub and rep WcT. My scrog is not quite what I was anticipating, but is coming along pretty good. I started with one clone (strawberry) much larger than the other (blackjack) and even with topping I still had to switch 12/12 sooner than I wanted. Plus I could have trimmed more and spaced my canopy better. But I am learning alot about this technique during this grow, I did alot of research pregrow but there is no teacher like experience so hope to get a little better next time. Here is a GJ link that has a fairly complete start to finish https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/312284-scrog-closet-grow.html. Here is another link from a different site that explains about the setup and filling the canopy http://forum.grasscity.com/plant-training/48363-scrog-method.html. Thanks again and I will post more pics wed or thu next week. :joint: Cheers!

Good looking out g! I found a screen today when I went and hot my nutes. I'll look into the links!
No problem WcT, if you decide to go scrog, veg till your screen is about 20-40% full, then flip to 12/12. I flipped mine when the smaller plant's apex tip just broke the screen, too soon in my opinion, and my screens didn't fill in quite as nicely as I wanted. Next grow will be 2 0r 3 agent orange clones and I should have some more consistency in filling my screens. I'm a noob at this but I did alot of research and any questions you have I will try and help with if you need it. Peace man :joint:

Looking nice! About to start some hempy buckets myself.
I highly recommend hempy! Been so easy and clean to use and hempy works at any size. I am using folgers coffee cans 27.8oz size for this grow. I found these at my local sams club in 48oz size which I plan to use for my next grow in hopes of building more root mass. One of these days when the kids go off to college I'm gonna grow some 5 gallon hempys just to do it lol. Thanks for the comment Peace

Hit my first bump in the road when the light came on tonight. Seen some yellowing of the leaves and some pretty bad burn on one of the fan leaves. I am pretty sure this is due to overfeeding as I increased my nute strength. I gave str8 water tonight and will do so again next time. I am going to lighten up my nute strength and see how things go. Makes me mad at myself seeing these ladies take abuse like that. Especially when things were going so good. So I will lessen the nutes and slowly work my way up a little bit at a time. Heres some pics of the abuse and I will post more shots on Saturday when they hit 4 weeks in.

Things are looking better, and both are starting to swell and frost up. The blackjack has beefier, and denser budsets but the strawberry is frostier. Here is the strawberry 28 days into 12/12.

Things are going pretty good. Both plants are building mass and smelling awesome. When I started this grow I set out to grow smaller plants because I didnt know what to expect. I see that I can still go with some larger pots and bigger plants and still have plenty of clearance for my light. But both plants are looking pretty good for only being 10in tall ,in 6in tall folgers coffee cans. I have some 2 1/2 gallon buckets and some other options to try for my next grow. Anyway heres some pics on the 35th day of 12/12. The strawberry double dutch 1st.

Perfect thread to stumble across and a current one at that. I just started acquiring parts for a very similar grow. It's going under a workbench in the garage - where it'll look like similar equipment. Workbench height 36" (under the 2.5" top), as deep as 36 (but will go 30 for workbench clamp overhangs), and a wide.

With this target and following the stealth / scrog threads and guides, I'm targeting 2' deep with the remaining 6 on the back for building in the plumbing, ballasts, etc. 2' wide for grow, maybe a mother or clone chamber adjacent. Could do all that nominally 3' wide.

Got a Lumatek 250w dimmable ($90 at pchydro right now) Phresh 4x12 filter and looking to get a TD-100 quiet fan. Must be absolute stealth. I have Jock Horror, Eldorado, Royal Flush to figure which to try first. Will need to LST to keep short for Sativa / no clone scrog.

Looking strongly at Hempy - esp for some consideration of being able to take off for a few days as needed. Too many similarities - great thread to jump on. No intent to hijack!

I am curious - where's your cabinet? For Garage I'll be struggling to keep cool in summer (S.E.) and warm in winter. Worried somewhat more about winter. I was wondering about reverse flow for winter - so intake air goes over bulb (to heat air) before later getting extracted via fan/carbon filter. Small ceramics heaters et all in air flow chambers are kind of scary.

Sounds like space wise your in the same ballpark as me. I am at 35" total height clearance, 35" width, and 25" depth. The cab is in my basement office/spare bedroom and is disguised as an junky DIY TV stand. I soundproofed the separate fan compartment and significantly cut down the noise, but could still hear the hum somewhat. A slightly less than full fish tank took care of that.

As far as the heat problems, for my brother we ran 2 runs of 6" insulated ducting from his in-house utility room as the air intake. It was a fairly small run in length, about 7 feet if I remember and there was no need for a boosting fan as far as intake was concerned. With his home thermostat set at 69 his grow box remained a steady 56-62 degrees during light out time in a unheated garage depending on the outside temps during winter. I think last winter our coldest day was in the single digits and his box temp never got below 53. It remains to be seen how the heat of summer will go, as his in box temps during winter hovered around 76 degrees. And like you said any heater with a radiant element would scare me off. The refletix I talked about earlier in my thread is going in his box for this winter, and we think this should improve temps by 3-7 degrees.

As far as my box is concerned my in house temp is a modest 65-68 degrees and when the lights are on my box temps can soar to over 86 degrees if I keep the office door closed. I have plenty of ventalition and 2 fans one blowing between the canopy and the light and one blowing directly on the plants through the canopy. Haven't had any heat issues at all. My bulb is about 8" from the canopy and I have at least 8-10 inches more height I can take advantage of next grow.

Hempy is great for it's ease and results. With my box I have more height clearance than I thought I would have and am going to go with some bigger buckets for next grow. I currently water every 2 days but my buckets are microsized at only 27.8oz and even then I could still easlily go up to 4 days with not too much of a problem. And the scrog has worked out pretty well for me even though it was my first time. I think maybe the close proximity of my fan to the plants made the limbs really stiff and strong. This cause the double dutch to actually split herself in one spot so I removed the screen and shes getting a little bit taller as she straightens up a bit. I've got some good experience though for the next grow so hope to get better next time.

Good luck with your grow and keep checking back, finish is in 2-4 weeks. More pics this Saturday.
