1st Grow (mini plants)

Hello folks,

Hope you're all well. Been on the forum for a few months - this is 1st post though.

About 8 weeks into 1st grow. 2 autos in DIY box in the cupboard, dimensions roughly 400mm wide, 900mm deep and about 1200mm high. Using the Chinese LED that shall not be named (marshydro 300w, old/new white model), and canna coco with canna a + b nutes. Pots are a 5l + 3l. I've since realised these are quite small. Now, basically, I know I've made a few mistakes (late, sporadic use of a £4 shitey fan from asda), but was hoping to get decent smoke come the end. Beans are called Big Bang from greenhouse, meant to flower in 6 weeks and a free diesel auto.
Anyhoos, pistils are popping up all over the shop, so they're away for sure. Only problem is, plants are about 8 inches high and skinny. Have tied them down in a vain bid for an extra few grams. Spent about £120 all in so been done on a budget.
My question is, is little wee maggot plants all I should expect from this set up? Thought with the coco I'd have monsters on my hands ha.

Here's the box - oh and popped another bb bean out of desperation, already had the missus scrape her hand round the empty jar in a vain bid for a one skinner...

Is the light normally that far away from the plant. If it is then why? I would add CFL in 2700K myself to augment whatever that light is doing.

Or add another red spectrum. It's that end of the light spectrum that chemically sends the plant to maturation including Max height given circumstances.

Light should be closer ( 18"-24" ). Also what cycle are you running ?

Cheers hotrod, had the light closer to begin with but thought the leaves were beginning to curl up a bit. At the moment, the light is closer than manufacturer's min distance. Will lower it and see how they fair.

Thanks vos. This was my schoolboy error to begin with, kept them in sealed box for about first 5 weeks and think that really stunted them. Now, keep the door ajar and occasionally have a wee cheap fan blowing on them. Every day is a school day...

Thanks buddha, going to move it closer. They are on 20/4 cycle right through.

Thanks mate - upped their nutes big time and have the wee fan blowing away. Seems to have given them a wee boost.

I'm new myself m8..I use a small growtent 60x60x140cm with 180w led filter & fan(250for kit with hangers,timer,humidity gauge)..My 1st attempt I got bout half ounce( used to small pot)Try a 11 litre pot if fits nxt time(get more Weed from it!!a good half ounce extra)..I went 18\6 with autos.Biobiz allmix soil.When seed germinated put straight into soil( no transplant)Start feed around 24 days .I used Biobiz grow & bloom & stick to feed schedule on bottle Only waterd when pot felt light(water till about,20% run off)..That's what I went with & get good Weed everytime m8..Patience is a cunt tho lol.

Cheers Steff, aye defo going to try bigger pots on next grow. Had these poor ladies in a sealed box with no fan and kept the nutes at seedling level for about 1st 6 weeks! No wonder they were struggling man...
Another auto bean popped and a bag seed on the cusp so hopefully be a different grow next time round. Can't be doing with paying over the odds for shitey weed no more...

Aye the cunts should be wearing masks the price they charging& its a hit or a miss with the quality..I just saved & got the kit eventually & Honestly whenever u fire up a doob you have grown its fucking amazing lol..Everdays a school day & u learn as u go.I just read the fuck oot the tinternet & was sick n tired of saying going to try my own 1 day so done it!! & its the best fucking hobby ever!!.Weeds a sturdy plant & can handle mistakes here & there the full grow m8/.just don't over water or feed em to much..If u get a bit of space fire seed str8 into 10or 11 litre pot,& watch em go

Haha...just got robbed there - needs must and all that. Sparking a home grown is the dream, self sufficient with quality control. Cheers for the advice dude.

$ame here 60 a quarter\Its no bad but prefer my own lol.Got 1 ready nxt week( small & had good few probs growing it Prob get bout 10-12 gram oot if it..Other2 be ready end Oct & end Nov.a space em out a bit so ready a few weeks apart..Good luck
