Room: 4'4" x 2'5" x 6'3" (L x W x H) feet
Lights: 250 watt Sunleaves two-way lamp. Westinghouse MH bulb with color temp @ 4000K (I know, I know). Light cycle is 20hrs on and 4 hrs off. Light is 12 inches from tops.
Strains: DNA LA Woman and one of Nirvana's Indoor mix pack (contains 1 seed of the following: Master Kush. PPP, Afghan, Skunk #1 and Nirvana special).
Soil: Greenthumb organic
Nutrients: Foxfarm Grow Big
Germination method: paper towel at about 82F.
Environmental conditions: Temperature - lights out: 65-68F; Lights on: 79-82F; RH - Lights out: 62%, Lights on: 29-32%.
Watering/Feeding: Each plant receives 1 quart every 5-6 days. 1teaspoon/gallon. Untreated water given every third watering.

Okay so there is the background info. Also to note that this is my first grow and there have been a couple set backs along the way. On day 15, both plants were pruned. The LA Woman was incorrectly fimmed? at the fourth node. Recovered fine. The nirvana plant was topped at the fifth node. On day 30, LA Woman was topped at 3 side branching tops.

I plan to try the "spiral around the pot" lst method on LA Woman and a 4-way lst method on the Nirvana plant. Both methods have excellent guides but I tend to have a knack for fucking up the simple things.

The numbers after the pic title refer to the day number.

Okay so I got bored and decided I would try to make a scrog screen with whatever I could find at the house. Tore apart an old box spring for the wood and had some hemp twine laying around the junk drawer. I dont know if the twine will be sturdy enough or not. Ive never done this before so I have no idea how strong a scrog screen should be but it seems like it doesnt have to be reinforced steel or anything, idk. Also a quick update on the 2 plants I have. This is at 32 and 30 days old.

Transplant day for Nirvana. LA Woman will have to wait till tomorrow. I thought 3 gallons of soil would be enough to transplant both but now I know. Heres how it went. Oh yeah, she went into a 3 gal bucket with FFOF. Now that Im using FFOF their must be some sort of "cool club" I can join right? Lol, Im a dork. There is also a pic of my mascot/guard dog, Jasper. He keeps that damn cat out of the room, "good boy!"

LA Woman transplanted today
. Both girls have new homes to fit my their needs. Looking at the root ball on LA Woman I'd say it was just in time. One thing for sure though, next grow I will be sure to have them in bigger pots at this point b/c it was tricky transplanting LA Woman due to the lst. About 1/3 of her stem is actually laying on the soil. I had to take all the hooks out and replace them after the move, another tricky maneuver. So far I am liking the 4-way lst much more than the spiral method due to the undergrowth of the LA Woman. If I would have trained her a bit higher off the soil it may not be so bad but I did and it is. Lesson learned for sure. I guess thats the point of "Grow #1". Overall all is well. Transplanting them got my watering schedule a bit skewed from where it was so LA Woman may start to show signs of slight over-watering but she should be okay in a few days if thats the case.

One question though. The roots seem concentrated at the bottom which leads me to believe that I had poor drainage and all the moisture was held at the bottom. What do you think?

Think I'll have the same prob w/ foxfarm since I did not mix it with anything (i.e. perlite)?

Alright so 3 days later and not much new. Topped portions of LA Woman are recovering well. Topped Nirvana last night and didnt really follow a symmetrical plan, just kind of went at it and plucked the easily accessible ones. It will look kind of funky when she gets back on track but hey, more buds are more buds. A few leaves on both plants have small holes or portions missing, noticed it while they were still very new growth. I have not seen any pests in soil, under leaves or anywhere else. Its only like 2 leaves per plant so Im not too worried its just weird I thought. All in all they are doing nice. Plan on flowering once the topped portions of Nirvana are growing well, so hopefully in 2 weeks maximum, that would make it 54 days from seed, what do y'all think?
