Hey,

New to the growing world but all my ladies having been going perfectly...till now.

The majority of my plants are 2 weeks into flower, 2 have been flowering for a few weeks. 2 days ago I noticed some pests on my leaves and took immediate action. I think there spider mites although they look like baby thrips... any second opinion would be much appreciated. I haven't seen any fly either.

I bought some Neem oil, Nite Nite Spider mites and was given a free local made experimental spider mite killer.
I sprayed each plant with Nite Nite Spider mite from the bottom up, making sure to spray under and on top of the leaves and all the stems. I did this in the hour before the lights went off. The next day I checked and no luck they were still there. I decided to give them a day break before spraying more Nite Nite Spider Mite as the leaves were a little brittle after the first spray. After the day break I repeated the process and still the little pests hang on.
Any suggestions why?

Before the lights go out again I plan to take each plant to the shower and hose the shit out them. Then I was thinking of spraying them all with some Neem oil and adding some ladybirds to my garden.

Below is the best picture I could get of one of the pests,a few of my garden and one of my sad budding hog(I think). I'm pretty happy how things have gone for my first time, I have 12 blueberry(clones which are growing all over the place(maybe a clone of a clone or something)), 8 moby dicy, 8 LSD, 1 reckege(the one with the most buds), 1 hog(budding sadly)and 1 unknown.
My set up is made of plenty of 'make do' solutions and all my equipment is a mash up of borrowed used gear. Bamboo and gaffa tap have been my best friend.

As I have little money and spent the last of it on the pesticides any cheap solution or tips on keeping these pests away from my baby girls would be much appreciated.

Thanks for reading and may your ladies grown tall and strong.

Thrips and I hate to recommend anything when you are flowering. Floramite is ineffective on thrips (and should only be used in veg), safersoap and rosemary will help control them, azamax will also control them. I am currently working on a cure.....

It looks like a thrip to me. Spinosad is what you need. It usually works in a day or two. It is also nonphytotoxic for most plants.

Hey easy talk first off stop!!! I not long ago went through this who ordeal almost exactly as if you were telling my story. I totaly freaked out when I first saw spider mite damage on a few leaves, what looked like tiny little speakles, this is where the mite was sucking the juice out of the leaf, next I searched the whole leaf shure as hell, a couple of tiny mites. Use a magnifing glass, 420 scope or like instrament.Your going to want to commit to memory what these little mosters look like, next the very best aradicator of spider mites is your thumb and forfinger untill, re-enforcements arrive, dont go spraying your buds. If you have already sprayed chemicals on them, dont go trying to wash it off when you realize your mistake,Too late, this will kill those plants (water n the leaf) I fried thirty plants 4weeks ago just like that darkness doesnt mater. I then chilled and took a much callmer aproach. first get on line with Igrow Hydro in there menue of stuff for infestation you will find preditor mite triple threat! these pre-mixed special little mites eat spider mites and their eggs!
When the food they eat dissapears so do they. I ordered 3 times the amount they recomend didn't cost me $100 most of that second day air. Meanwhile.... While you wait for the troops to arrive get busy. You must start by removeing everything that isnt growing or required to grow. It can come back in after the bloom is done and all has been sterilized with light bleach solution floor included mylar will need to be replaced those little bastiges seem to cling lay eggs and creep into your next crop. So, before ya ever move more plants in do this, or re-paint. Next remove badly damaged egg layed leaves and continue to do this to the worst infected. You need to remove these leaves from the grow! dont leave any filth dirt or old dead leaves around , anywhere. Slightly damaged leaves.. Just mash the little buggers and there eggs. like I for-mentioned YOU are the best aradicator of spidermites.TiP(I use a jewler visor that I wear on my head for these inspections.) Also get a little make-up brush if you start to see tiny webs in the nodes keep them off your plants or mites will lay eggs in them and they can buils up and spoil your crop. hope this insight wasn't to long winded. And hope it proves helpfull. If I can think of any steps I missed I'll post them up. Good luck, and order those preditors NOW!!! and dont feel bad if you get way to many, I ordered 1500 for a 12 by 12 bloom room.

Thrips will survive a nuclear holocaust I swear to god.

Spinosad is what you need brother. It's a one stop shop to all pest problems and it's OMRI listed.

I am having the same problems, bith my veg room and my grow tent are infected. little white things hopping about the water saucers, little flies, and my plants looking serioulsy poorly, all the leave are crispie and curled under, yeild is poor. I have tried Neem , tobacco spray, even fly spray on the little flies, they seem to refuse to die, unless i squash the shit out of them with my hands !!! I don't know what else to do, I have showered all the plants pots at the bottom, put cooking oil on the saucers , I have sprayed all my plants with Canna pest control....didn't work ...... I never had this problem when I had a DIY room , just plastic sheeting held up on the walls with drawing pins, now I buy a grow tent and all hell lhas broken out . I don't know what to do anymore apart from killing them all off and starting again :( Please any good advice you can give me I would be eternally grateful . I want to save my babies. : )

Don#t waste your money on Canna either or Neem oil, I have the same problem as you , I kill as many as the flies as i can , even used fly spray n they seem to be immune to even that. What I have down is put Flora cooking oil rubbed over my water saucers and up to now have not seen any of the white things I suppose are thrips larve. I hate them , they are ruining my crop, but I just keep at them. I took all my plants & water saucers into the shower and hosed off the bottom of the plant pot n washed off all the saucers, hoovered out my grow room n still got the little bastards n I think I have inhaled enough chemicals to now die 20 years before my time !!! :(
