youre going to need a fan and some reflective material fella. those sedlings are going to streatch big time with hps so far away. can you get a flouresent for vegging and have it nearer the top of the plant? ive made the same mistakes recently. have a good look through this site and all the tips can be found. good luck

those need help because it looks like heat stress over watered/ underwatered and give them some nutes to and then you good to go
I would definitely lower that light down. Just put a thermometer next to the plant and lower it till it gets to 80-85 deg. I also have a 400 HID and during this stage it was about a foot above the plants at most. As far as light reflecting, from what I've read just paint your room with a matte white paint. Of course you cant do this now, but after this batch get a gallon for like $10-15.

i have a fan in with them and my light is about a foot and a half above the plants at the moment when i had it lower the leaves started to curl up .also do any of you think its to early to flower because i think they are a good size the now to flower and i have read the plants double in size ? need advice please

well quick update i have now transplanted into 15 litre buckets and put ma girls into flower woop woop lol having a wee ph problem but i am in the process of tryin to sort it adding ph down to my water makin it a bit more acidic plus i am using bio bloom to give them a wee extra help

hey, not posted on here for a while just popped on for a looksie at what people where doing and thought id drop a couple tips in.
its a bit late now but when you start again you would probably be better of doing seedlings/cuttings under a 125 watt cool white CFL, a 400 watt hps is a bit overkill for new plants and can cause stress and damage, plus the 125 watt cfl's dont emit much heat which means they can be placed much much closer to the plants without damaging them, also you might want to find a smaller growing space or build something inside your current one for seedlings and paint it matte white, so the plants get more light from reflection with no extra power required. the 400 watt hps will be good once they are a couple weeks old and arent so fragile, and you will want a cool white bulb for vegative growth and then a warm white bulb for when they are in flower, or you can get a dual spectrum hps so it doesnt need to be switched but as far as my understanding goes they dont put out as much blue/red spectrum as the cool/warm spectrum bulbs do

i have a 400 watt mh/super hps(more money) and a switchable ballast
you should just get a switchable ballast and get a 400watt mh bulb there about 30 dollars, keep you hps.
use the MH bulb for vegging and the hps

a know think its the buckets i am using the soil seems to be holding the water more for some reason ave nt watered for 3 days now and they are still quite moist plus ma ph problem is a cause aswell i think from what i have read on this . thanks for you help but its always welcome still a rookie lol

i already have the switchable ballast going to use the mh for my next grow just didnt have the cash to buy 2 bulbs plus my light set up .Learning more and more everyday and you guys posting on here is a massive help and very much appreciated .cant wait till i start my second grow and ave nt even finished ny 1st lol

sorry not posted in a while had a wee bit of a disaster 4out of the 5 are male 
so wordof warning to everyone dont buy seeds from cannabisseed.com as they are not feminised and yes it seems a good deal but in the end it will end upcosting you time and wasted electricity !!!!!! 1 stillon the go still waiting to see what that comes out as but i dont have great hopes for it being female . well gutted as you could probably guess as would everyone else 
ordered some more seeds this time from nirvana so once they arrive i will be starting all over again least this time i know what i am doing
