1st Grow - Dual Cabinet System - Sour Diesel, Purple Urkel Kush

Everything looking good so far. Still no signs of hermie plants. All the buds are starting to swell up nicely and everything smells very nice. So nice that my DIY charcoal filter is about useless. I can smell the stuff well outside my grow area. I think I'm gonna have to invest in a 8" squirrel fan with a HUGE charcoal filter to keep the smell down.

I've also created another small flowering area using CFL's to sex my Mendo Purps seedlings. They have been in there for about 4 days, so hopefully in another week or so I will know if they are male or female.

I germinated a free seed I got with my Attitude seed order called Gigabud. It's suppose to flower in 5-6 weeks and have decent quality. Anyone grown this strain before?

hope you can get the smell under control, but i bet its wonderful haha, never heard of gigabud, tho this thread i just looked at, he was growing it, but it was only like 3 weeks or somthing, keep it up man, hopefully no hermies this time!

Well coming up on the 5th week again and I'm finding fucking little balls on the Sour Diesel plant. There is no possible way this could be happening. Temp and humidity are perfect, zero light leaks....wtf could be causing this. I think the Sour D clone I got was a hermie from the beginning and no matter what I do it's gonna be like this.

I'm throwing out the Sour D mom tonight.

None of the other plants flowering have the balls so I think I'm gonna keep pulling the balls off of the Sour D and let everything finish. The last crop even though premature gets me plenty loaded.

I may be a new grower but I have a bit of advice for anyone who reads this thread. START FROM SEED. FUCK PEOPLE SELLING CLONES.

Yeah man, can't wait to see your room bro. I went from a PC Box to a 4X4' space and WOW!! Big Plants!! I have some Thai X Skunk over 5' tall 30 days into flower.

Of course, we don't know how authentic they are. I have some Trainwreck that I'm currently growing from some bagseeds I got at a dispensory. By far the prettiest, easiest growing plant I have. Thirty days into flower and the leaves are covered with resin. But it's a hermie, I found pollen sacks on many of its lower branches. I just hope it didn't pollinate my whole crop, because I don't have the luxury of starting over right now like you did. I'm going away for 12 days in early June and I don't want to run the flowering room while I'm gone, so I'm stuck with the bud I get!! I guess you could say I'm breeding, I will now have (possible) seeds from:

Trainwreck X Thai X Skunk, Trainwreck X Snow White, Trainwreck X Afghan, and Trainwreck X Trainwreck IBL.....LOL Maybe I'll discover the next superstrain!!!

I haven't been taking pics of the new room yet, but I will get some. It's a really simple idea. I framed a 8 x 10 ceiling lined the bottom with pandafilm and then hung it from the ceiling like a tent. It was a bitch to put up but it turned out great. I installed a door with that tarp zipup stuff, and now I'm working on getting some ventilation going.

And I got some 1000 watt lights. I'm a happy camper.

very nice dont even have to frame walls. From what i have in my head i am thinking of like a circus tent cant wait to see the shows that go in there.

Gonna post an update soon, and get some photos of the new room. Had some serious smell issues going on. Had to pick-up a freakin $400 fan and filter today. What a rip-off. But atleast I can't smell the garage from 20' away anymore. Worked like a charm.

Hmm. The hardest part is finding a tub and rez that are the same size that fit your 2x2 space. I found mine at a restaurant supply store. They are busboy bins. One taller than the other that are stackable. I use the larger bin for the rez and the shorter for the tray. You just want to make sure your rez tank is large enough to hold 1-2 gallons of water per plant. I'm at about 1.5 gallons per plant and I have to top off the water once a week and change the rez once a week.

As for the hardware I used a medium sized waterfall pump from Home Depot. Nothing too strong though or you could pump more water than your overflow can handle and you'll have a mess to cleanup. I used black 3/4 vinyl tubing and the fittings like the overflow and water inlet I got from a Hydro shop. That might be the hardest pieces to find if you don't have a hydro shop near you. If you don't have access to one, watch the "I grow chronic" series on you tube by Mr.Green or whatever his name is. He does a nice ebb and flow table using only parts from the hardware store.

The idea is water will flow from the pump up the tubing and out the water inlet and flood the upper tray. When the upper tray is full water will then go back into the rez via the overflow tube. I don't use any hose for the overflow, I just let it waterfall back into the rez. This puts a little more oxygen in the nutrient solution that will get pumped back up to the plants.

I use fast draining hydroton pellets and flood for twenty minutes every four hours and twice during the night. Depending on what medium you use you will have to water more or less. Like rockwool you might only need to water once or twice a day.

Here are some photos from when I built mine. Don't mind the parts for the drip system, I never ended up using those parts.

More important than the height of your equipment would be what type of plants your growing and how long you veg them. I have found so far that vegging for one month is perfect. The plants will grow 36" to 48" tall depending on the type. I'm using all available space without them getting them burnt by the light. If you were growing a shorter Indica you could veg for longer than a month, probably.

Also LST'ing with string or twine can really help keep the height down.

Things still looking good. Everything is very sticky. My hands are a sticky mess after having to haul the plants out for a water change. The smell is great too. The Sour Diesel smells like sour cotton candy or something, the haze reeks of bubblegum and the purple urkel has a spicy grape skunk smell.

Looks like I will probably start flushing in about 5 days or so. I need to get a magnifying glass to look at the trichromes though.

plants are looking great bro im takei ng 1 of my bubble gums down soon i put the rest of them in bud 2 weeks ago i also have a new journel going hows the building of your new room going do you have any pics of it yet
