Same bulb same place different price.
The avatar isn't real but I did start riden in 1957. Only thing that keeps me sane. Well nearly......
Still laughing at your first grow.

Say Trisafe, Thanks for the rep.
You have a great following here too. Too many grows turn into BS and too much praise while trying to ride somebodies coattails and not enough good info. I thankfully I don't see that here. Thanks to all that contribute here too.
I'm now 67 years old and no longer growing for fun as I did in the 70's and 80's it's now for Med's. But as I see why not have fun too.
You may have converted me to CFL although I've 400 & 430 HPS already in the grow area.
There is a very good link to LST that I'll give a shot no matter the lighting system. I've 5 ' of height to work with. any way the link is

https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/6834-how-lst-low-stress-training.html

Now to a question or clarification from your valued thoughts. I've found some TCP (brand name) 300 watt equivalent using 68 watt with 4200 Lumen's with 27K spectrum. They are standard base & dimension 9.5 L / 4.1 D the ballast is too big for a reflector also. At $20.00 it seems a good deal or is it a waste? But using your formula it seems to fit adding a couple blue for the final stage. Three of those vs 830 HPS & heat?
Thank You all for making this one fun and I'll stick around until the lights go out..
Hey Old Goat thank you for your kind words, really appreciate :)
About the lights, I don't have direct experience with 68 watters but luckily Dezracer has and dropped by :)
I wouldn't even dare considering CFLs if I had 830 watts hps for a number of reasons but if you plan adding some blue cfls to experiment mixed spectrum, and/or want to try or add a different a setup for some reason - well - go forth :) sure those 68w won't do any harm nor put out heat comparable to hps - they're sure are in a complete different league from that point of view.

thank you for the link about lst, there's also this one that I find really inspiring, beautiful pictures in it:

UPDATE:

bagseed: approaching 7 weeks flowering in a couple of days :leaf:

WW: 1 month flowering (0 vegtime)

WW2 and violator kush: 10 days old and lining up (0 vegtime)

it is always 155W in there, 1-2" from the tops and 27°C.
Just gave plain water to all of them.

I gotta tell you I'm quite happy :) : even if there's some yellowing here and there (signs of my repeated abuses) plants are growing noticeably now - WW is building buds and is developing some resin; bagseed at almost 7 weeks still has white trichs appearing on the top of the buds, marking new growth. :weed:

After this round of plants, anyway, I'm definitely going to build a new cab nowhere near as high as this one (somewhere below 3') where I'm using less than half its height... and just for the huge pots because plants themselves are 8" tall only - no point in making tall cabs with CFL + LST I think now... And I will probably do (read try) more, smaller plants with the same watts and SOG.

Njoy!! c ya!!! ;)

thanks for posting this trifase, I have been trying to find a perfect medium between yeild and low wattage, your article helps with ideas. For the good of the community you MUST let us know how much you yeild. Also great job with the enginuity of building your own devices. I see these cabinets, tents, etc on the internet and the prices make me laugh. A little creativity saves a lot of cash, and of coarse it's great to share your ideas so someone else may benefit.

Hey nice job bro! I have a similar cab with low wattage my only prob is I didn't hardly veg at all. I also only used half my cab's height but i'm doin a scrog. My next grow I would like to do a lst and scrog with about the same setup just to compare. If I woulda vegged properly we coulda compared except ur way ahead of me. I'm expecting a low yield oh well live and learn. Looking 4ward to ur big chop keep us posted.

I will post detailed info about how much I get you can be sure about that! ...there's so much room for improvement and so many people around doin' good - so let us know when you start your own ;) will follow fo sho!

Looks good bro
thanks bro!!! :)

thank you chainseeker :) I saw you cab and liked it very much, two 70s is interesting and not so common! I don't see any problems in not vegging but we'll see - hope you're wrong about low yeld! :)

I'm posting a couple of pics more from yesterday that better show resin production at this point (7 weeks more or less, and 4 weeks)
Njoy!

What up trifase?
Have you ever tried White Widow? I vaped some of the WW I grew today to see if it was any good and WOW!!! I always go with about half of what I would normally use when sampling and did just that today with the WW and it got me pretty high, higher than the Sour Grape and the Lemon I bought did when I sampled them. It was about the same strength of high as the Blue Dream I had recently.
I couldn't resist going back for more and ended up having a VERY nice afternoon. Hope yours turns out as good as or better than mine bro...

eheheh thanks for your thoughts :) happy WW worked so good for you. I've tried it in the past when it was legal to buy grass in a small, neutral country... ;) so it's been some years and I can't say I remember it really - well I will be able to tell in a month I guess and hope it's going to be as potent as yours!!!

Your plant looks healthier than minie did so yours will probably be better than mine. Hopefully you'll let yours go longer too as I chopped mine too early which made for some exta weight loss during drying.

Your plants look great, keep it up...

Thanx Dezracer :) Now that you mention leaving plants go... I fear I have still some road ahead: they look nowhere near done I think now, even if the trichs suggested otherwise becoming brown so early.
I'm happy on one side (she'll hopefully pack up more weight) but I'm dying with impatience...! Bagseed's approaching 8 weeks in days - damn fine ladies always make you wait so long ahahah...

I just commented similarly in your thread without reading here - lol!!!
and btw your plants look very good!

UPDATE:

a lil' update of my plants, I haven't been around for a week... missing you guys!

- bagseed is 8 weeks: still not ready, seems to be slowed down... maybe PH lock or chlorine lack/abundance - a tester is on the way for next grows ;)
- WW is 5 weeks: goin' along fine, really satisfying :)
- violator kush and WW2: 20 days, still no sex

pix are mixed but labelled :) C ya!!!

EDIT: added hygrometer (as you suggested, ty ^^) !!! shows 50% humidity, temp is 30°C today - they should be fair if not optimal

looks nice to me, but i think you're right on the ripening, probably at least a week, more likely 2
may just be the plant's natural cycle, but you can see everything up close
i guess most plants are looking green to me after the strange ripening on my current run

Looks nice.
I came home to plants that have had NO LIGHT in flower room for a couple days, haha. They look fine and I fixed the light problem.
