1st grow Afghan Kush CFL soil :)

Hey im new and excited about my current grow so i thought id do a journal! i have 1 plant around 1 month and a week old and and another plant around a month old. the first plant mdog is in veg and the second plant, napoleon, was put into flower yesterday. before i continue ill give some specs for my set up.

For veg:
2x3x5 foot mylar grow tent
temps between 68 and 78 farenheit humidity around 30 percent
1 200 watt sunmaster 14000 lumen CFL
start in half litre pots and transfer once into 5 litre pots at around 3 weeks
some fans hehe

For flower
Closet, big one, will isolate grow areas with posterboard if i find its nesecary to increase light reflection
temps between 66 and 77 farenheight humidity 50 percent
1 125 watt sunmaster 8000 lumens and 1 200 watt 14000 sunmaster which im waiting for still to arrive

for nutrients ive been using plant prod 20 20 20, epsom salts some organic high nitrogen fertilizer and bone meal. i plan to introduce molasses for the last half of the flowering cycle as well

now for some explanation, mdog is a month and a week old but i waited too late to transfer her and she suffered minor root rot, so i transplanted her and let her sit for a bit then poorly fim'd and lst'd as well as recently cutting some fan leaves to allow for better light penetration. shes still in veg however is a confirmed female as white pistils formed nice and early at around 3 weeks. she is 5 weeks old on september 28

napoleon is already asleep, but ill have pictures of that beauty up rather soon

would love any feed back or suggestions! and of course help along the way

Thanks, the novice

They're lookin' nice and healthy to me. I just recently started an afgan kush for myself so I'm definately interested in watching your babies bloom.:-P I also grow in soil and have very similar nutes. You have better lights though, as I just use cfls.

Hopefully both of yours will be ladies, keep doin what your doing.

Curious, what soil are you using?

Im using sunshine pro mix and topping with generic gardening soil with lots of natural porosity after a couple waters to cover the roots up after transplanting. i find these light airy soil mixes displace easily so a denser gardening soil on top keeps the roots covered way better in my opinion, thanks for the reply and support :)

Alright, Napoleons happy in flowering, already has a nice sweet skunky smell comming out, having trouble deciding sex, to me it looks like a female but i cant be sure yet will be a couple days till i can confirm :)

Ah just enjoyed some purple kush honey oil on top of a couple fat sour diesel one hit bowls, feelin preettty good bongsmilie

As for mdog in vegetation, shes bushing up really well, im really intense with my lst but i think its paying off, i will have my lovely girlfriend take some pictures with her camera tomorrow, hopefully i can get a good shot of the pre flowers on napoleon for you all >:)

Next, i took a clone off of mdog just one of the lower branches that wasnt going to produce much, its on day two and i just covered the pot with a ziploc freezer bag, looking nice and green so im hoping this clone will work because mdog is a beautiful pheno, before i mutated it that is haha but its regaining its asthetic charm <3

I also have 2 Halley's Comet seeds germinating in soil after a 3 day soak, one cracked but the other didnt, my guess is low temperatures so i threw it in the soil and covered the wee pot with a sandwich bag.

I will have pictures up of all the plants and my own progress tomorrow probably later at night :weed:

Peace everone

It seems like you must have done a decent amount of research if this really is your first grow.:-P:joint:

Keep it going, I'm excited to see what's to come.:peace:

HAHA here here pictures for everyone! this is going to be a heavy picture thread so brace your bandwidth haha lets goo first up is napoleon in day 5 of flowering, love breathing in that fresh air hehe,
well after writing that i had troubles getting attachments to work, ugh ill try figuring out this but i gotta sleep, will have pics asap

PEACE all :joint:

Thanks for the suppot Toker, helps to have at least 1 person to inspire me to keep the journal up haha hopefully some more people come round, i love hearing any kinda input just cause i want to learn everything there is to

Oh good news! :D

Confirmed that napoleon is a girl,
on the down side it looks like i have a calcium and magnesium deficiency. my course of action is to break up some eggshells and let them sit in water for 2 days at room temp, then mix in some molasses and epsom salts, a sweet and salty explosion! before i do that im going to give both the plants a nice heavy watering to clear out any salts or anything that may be lingering and then by the end of the weekend they will be hungrier than me before turkey dinner, YUMMM.

bad news... :(
light came in the mail, broken again. Damn ordering online makes some things really hard. however ive sent an email, these guys are good at sending bulbs fast, but ive asked for a little bonus since ive been messing around so long waiting for them to do it right :S RAAGGGGHHH but its ok just :joint: breathhee in, and out goes the smoke and stress hehe

well thats all for now, will have updated pictures on the weekend probably

Peace everyone :leaf:

So it looks like napoleon has nitrogen toxicity, too eager during veg i was. old vegetation is dark green and has brittle spots as well as curly little new growth. newest fan leaves show no sign so im going to watch it until its dry again and if symptoms worsen, flush the absolute shit out of it and if not, proceed with eggshell water, epsom salts and molasses and skip the 20 20 20. mdog is looking hungry for nitrogen zinc and calcium so she will have a good feeding too, that bush dries up the pot in 2 days, im excited as hell to watch her flower. i will upload some pictures later, just wanted to write my thoughts

thanks

I thought I saw some leaves on nap that were a little too dark (N toxicity). Anyway, it doesn't look bad at all, I bet she pulls through with no problems.

Good job on identifying the cal/mag issue on the other plant. I have about 5 years of growing experience and I admit that when my plants have cal/mag issues it usually gets more severe before I can accurately diagnose it.

It sucks about your light being broke on arrival, but it's good that the store you ordered it from is working with you. Very soon I plan on purchasing a 400 or 600 hps by ordering online, so I don't like hearing about these types of problems. Hopefully they will get you set up asap.

Sounds to me like the most important variable has worked in your favor. I'm referring to the fact that you have confirmed both of your plants to be female. I pretty much only grow feminized beans, but every time it is still a great feeling when you see those first pistils.

You gotta love how bushy your girls are getting. I know I do and I hope mine does the same.

Keep truckin' :peace:

Thanks a lot Talon, nice to have people that tune in, feels good to hear some words, i basically feed based on deficiencies due to my lack of a specific feeding program, but i feed, then next do just water and it seems to be working well enough. i also took a couple clones off of napoleon as i cut the lowest main growths just cause theyre tiny little girls, so i tought my gf how to take clones, that was fun haha a couple new growers going at it together

i also have pictures from oct 1 and will have more soon

Napoleon- 1 week and 3 days of flowering

IMG_3724.jpgIMG_3722.jpgIMG_3720.jpgIMG_3719.jpgIMG_3732.jpgIMG_3735.jpg

Mdawg- 6 weeks and one day, in my opinion, growing into the master of cfl plants, i love this plant and cant wait to see her bud

IMG_3743.jpgIMG_3742.jpgIMG_3741.jpgIMG_3737.jpgIMG_3744.jpg

these plants have come so far in 2 days it blows my mind, raising at least an inch a day on napoleon, its transitioning slowly into flowering because the calcium deficiency definitely is stunting it, however i flushed it and made a tea of quarter strength 20 20 20, egshells, molasses, and epsom salts to feed these two girls when they are ready.

thanks everyone

Ragh im out of smoke and have been the last few days, been very stressed the last couple weeks and its hard to stay with a hippy mindset when the hip is all gone. i am a depressed psychopath so its not the best time, luckily im smart enough to understand thoughts and behaviors of people including myself, have to attribute that to the ganja, before i never thought of others, anyways hope i get some pics up soon, maybe friday or thursday

peace and love

Bad news!

Napoleon is a hermaphrodite, i thought those pre flowers looked a little skimpy, just a couple pollen sacks on the topped node. Guess i have to cut down the clones too, but that means mdawgs first day in flowering will be tomorrow and well get to see her grow up. its a good thing i took a clone of her cause she is a beautiful pheno, still cant get over preflowers showing at 3 weeks even tho she was vegging.
ill have pictures of napoleon soon, rip out the root mass and see what ive done. so next proposed harvest is in approx 2 months :\

peace
