1st Grow... 6 Weeks In.... Questions

So im very new to growing my own herb.
Yet I have spend countless days in the last half year reading books on cannabis cultivation and watching MJ related grow videos not to mention all the threads that I have read on here and other like sites...
This is the set up
8 6400 K 1600 lumen CFL's
2 4L pots
A box I made with large sheets of poster board.
12" box fan
Large bag of Shutz .08 .12 .08 "the most expensive shitt Wally Land has"
1 bottle of Shutz Liquid plant food 12 8 12
Thats bout it

I plan on adding more lights when I go into flower yet I was wondering so to what the best route would be to go... LSTing " am I to late in the game for that"?? The ladies are bout a foot tall..
topping?
been reading a lot about topping. Yet many peoples ideas of how and when this should be done differ...... also when should I flower as not to have to go string and elctric coard crazy adding additional CFL's Dont get me wrong I want a decent yeald I just doubt that my 8 cfl's can support growing massive foot long buds.... or can they with the right combo of LSTing and topping???......

nice looking 1st plants! i think you're flowering is coming up fast, depends on your strain. At least if you're going to stick with cfl's. is this bag seed?

What are your thoughts on toping or LST'ing/SuperCropping?

I haven't done either, though I've looked over LST closely. My grow is going to be short enough for my space, so I've put LST on back burner.

Your leaves didn't look too indica, maybe 50/50 hybrid. I think things are going to get big, though that's just a guess.

So how many cfl do u suggest i add when I go to 12 n 12 to get the full potential that I am looking for...im working with 8 now

You have to be patient for replies, takes time for folks to home in on new grow pages.
From what I've seen, count on doubling cfl's(at least) from veg to flower.
This can get out of hand quickly. I'm doing a micro grow, so trying to contain the cfl 'explosion'.

That's my admittedly inexpert opinion. Looks like they'll finish out around 4 foot. Just my 2 cents.

Take that with a grain of salt. They look like they have a fair amount of sativa in them. It may be a little better to have a grow that finishes a little smaller than you want. Getting too large can be the bigger problem. Depends on space, security needs, electric costs.
2nd opinion wouldn't hurt, maybe post a new thread with pics. Post under indoor growing section maybe, cfl section doesn't get as many views.

[well deff getting to 3 feet . lst at this stage would be good .
get those screws wit a rin on the and screew them into ur pots and tide down branches . eassy be gentle as they grow they push up and when budding this is good thickens the branches and creates the budd from colas grow like a fork figure. my two biggest plants at a fot and 3/4 tall one topped one lst u could see the diff . continue to lst till week 6 of budding . the rest are my ligths 4 6 plant two in soil four in hydro all gurls . hope this helps . just ask and i would help if possible

Thanks for your input greenlanter.... so you think if I start my 12 n 12 now that I will end up with around 3 foot tall girls? what kind of yeld should I expect from 3 foot plants? I'm not trying to rush things Just sceptical about having a spider web of electric cords in my grow room

i suck at xplaining things ironic but yeah.... ok so i would draw it to u and send u the blue print for ur set up so u use wat u already have and only xpend a few bukks.
gime me 5 mins . i would include my set up . dutch tape is ur best friend against fire parenoia also electrical tape.

i tried iam kinda tired annt an artist . on the yield 4a plant 3 feet tall u should get an o per plant . but remember it depends on xpirience dicipline ligths air co2 diy which 4 ur set up a recomendation eschechual ur feedings and just leave the weed do wat weed do . grow it aint rocket science bro . less is better . notting too much and u be good. i would say tie down the cola branches wit screw rings to the pot and lst u deff should lst both plants i would say if u top they would get two bigg and u dont have the room . so stattying one dy at a time.

Thanks a bunch for your input....... and Being as I don't get paid till next friday I think Im gona veg till then... maybe another 3 or so inches in the next week n a half...... In your oppion should I use just 2700K for budding or a mix of 2700k and 6500k's??

iam not an electrician and i had this set u 4 three grows and all my plants i vegg fo 6 weeks or so i budd early cus my plants are all clones or seeds from the same mother so they tend to grow fast and develop pre flowers on my 16/8 ligth schechual so yeah a foot and a half i flower and wit masiibe lst for the fist 6 weeks then i release and then booom the stand strong agaist he ligth. is just wat they do . i keep the ligts about 7 inches from plants cus i got under and side ligts . cool white buls in mydle plus t5on side .

yeah nothing changes for the first two weeks of budding bsides massive grow and hairs or balls hopefully hairs u knw . yeah i knw tat for 4 26w 2700k it helps to have one 6500k so the red and blue ligth spectrum is better mix. so maibe add 8 2700 kays and remobe three of ur 6500 . if is ur first grow take things slow an is possible wit patience and care.
