whats up ya'll, this is my first grow and im about 1 month in, no major problems yet. I am using 4 40watt CFL's in my closet (2ft deep, 5 ft wide, 5.5ft tall) i have 5 plants im growing from bagseed, plant sizes are ranging from 4in (topped) to 8in i am about to put my plants into flowering seeing as i live in an apartment, and i want to see what the smell is gonna be like full flowering(i figured the smaller they were the less they would smell). they already smell strong as hell!, my bedroom reeks of fresh cannabis. im in the process of making a carbon scrubber, its built already but im too broke to buy the carbon right now haha. just wondering if the plants are looking ok for 1 month, looking at a lot of other peoples stuff, mine seem a bit small(to me at least)
heres some pics

Lookin good you lucked out too it's a indica heavy strain from the looks of it. All the bag seed around here is sativa so I have to deal with a super long flower period. no stretching or anything though. The smell is going to be more based on the strain than the size of the plant, more than a couple of plants is likely to produce a fair amount of smell though. You could get lucky there are times when the buds don't develop a smell until they are all the way into the curing process, that's the exception not the rule though.

They will get a lot bigger when you start 12/12. 3-4 times bigger. Most people just let their plants get to 6" and flower. Others prefer 12". But if you are low on lighting, I would flower now.

They look like they need some more light. FL Tubes can touch the plants. CFLs need to be 2-4". I recommend as close as possible as you seem to need a bit more lighting.

Also, If you are worried about the smell. Clone and regrow only the ones that smell good or lack odor. I have a few that smell skunky, a few that smell like christmas trees, one or two that smell like mint, and one that has no odor. Better smelling or plants that lack smell for longer periods of time are better if you are worried.

Looking good man! Deff an indica strain, I started off with like 32 bagseeds and got them up to seedlings and trashed all but 3 of them, then after reading that with bagseeds about 2/3 of them would turn up males I sucked it up and ordered 1 blueberry seed from the attitude seed bank. All three BS turned out male so i'm glad I did. But I guess what I'm trying to say is if your unlucky like me then attitude pick and mix is the way to go, safe, fairly cheap if you only order one, fast, and it's nice to know exactly what i'm growing (guarnteed female). Also I cloned the blueberry so I get to let my investment pay for itself. But either way, looking good and don't let anyone on here bust you up on the way your doing things, not that anyone has on this thread, but i've noticed some people think their way is the only way. I guess they don't know that MJ is a WEED and there's really not to much you can do to mess them up. Just follow the basics and you should get atleast one fem. GOOD LUCK!

thanks guys, i actually doubled the amount of lights yesterday, i was only using 2 40 watt bulbs, so i added 2 more 40 watts. i can already see a difference in the leaves they have pepped up a lot where as the were a bit droopy before. ive also been trying a lot of different things on them, one is topped, one is fimmed, two are trimmed (to let more light reach the branches) and one is left untouched. i figure that since they are from bag seed it would be a good idea to try out diff. techniques and see what works best for whatever strain this is. i've been worried about, all males i would be pissed (of course) haha. not discouraged though, for the past month i have invested a lot of time and money on these, and if that were to happen i would most defiantly buy some good seeds(probally will next grow anyway for variety, i have found this is a very relaxing hobby, almost as fun as indulging in the fruits of our labor im sure that after this i will have many more, there are a lot of diff. things i want to try, trying diff. things is half the fun! anybody have a strain they particularly like? i've been running a non oscillating box fan on the plants 24/7, is this ok, i havent really been able to find much on it. i wasnt sure if it would cause a tougher plant or more stress.

heres a few pics of some things i've noticed, tell me what ya think. i dont use any fertilizers, but i did try coffee grounds for N. im pretty sure it may have something to do with the soils PH(seeing as i've never tested it). and i know coffee will make the soil more acidic. as far as the canoeing & clawing goes, could my plants be root bound? not sure because my biggest plant shows no symptoms? also for a while i was using lights underneath the plant as well until i read it wasnt good for the plant. the white spot on the leaf has been there for about a week and a half, but hasnt gotten any larger, what could this be?

Nice plants, my plant is just nearing a month (24 days) and im already into day 4 of flowering. If your cramped for space put the lights right on it to encourage bushy growth - thats what i did and its compact and small but has around 8 nodes and huge leaves.
The tube lighting you have (if im seeing right) is cool to the touch so stick it right into the plant because it gives of light in a 360 (well maybe not right into it) cause when it flowers it will grow 2-4" a day - even more if fed and watered right and those lights have minimal penetration so the taller the plant the less light hits the bottom making a smaller yeild.

Goodluck! The plants look awesome!

thanks, today is day two of flowering for me im really hoping for at least one female, more would be nice, but 3 would be perfect as i could then rearrange the lights to better light them i moved all the plant within 1/4 in of the light when my lights came back on earlier. i used a bunch of books for risers =)
im glad sombody has plants close to the same age as mine, i will be interested to see how your stuff comes out! do you have a sex yet?
goodluck man

I can't quite tell in the pics but it looks like your going purpleish, unless this is a purp strain in flower then you may have a phosphorus issue. Check out this thread https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/157345-have-plant-problem-check-here.html it may help you out. I don't think your rootbound. Hope you don't mind a pic on your thread but this is a blueberry I'm growing in the same size pot and i'm 24 days into flower.
well if this is a purp strain i would be pretty happy, but im pretty sure its not based on the green it came from, no prob with pics, i wish i had a blueberry! anyways, thanks for the info, and good luck on the bud!

Too soon to be definitive but looks more like a ball than a hair. But sometimes a new leaf set can look like a ball if its still new and tight. You've got some time before you have to worry about pollination so I'd ride it out a little bit til you can be 100% sure. In short, I think so but i'd wait it out.

thanks guys, im pretty excited about it! i am at day 35 of flowering, it seems like it took forever for them to start but now the buds are growing good! im not sure about yield, i know im only about half way with flowering all 5 plants are very different except for two. the tho that are similar have nice size buds at 4 and 5 bud points. the other plants have much smaller buds but at many more bud points! i will be sure to let yall know how they turn out!!!im gonna get a magnifier here soon for some trichome shots. red hairs are starting to come in on the buds also!
