1st ever grow, 1st ever journal, All tips and advise welcomed

i STARTED ANOTHER THREAD WHEN I STARTED MY GROW. Not getting too many responses., and I couldn't figure out how to change the title. So here goes.

Today's pic's. Will be putting in flower ina cple of days. Waiting until my 4x4x8 box is rdy. 600 watt hps. Thinking about putting some extra lights on the sides. 3 or 4 cfl's maybe. I'm going to pull clones off the bottom of these. They are femed seeds. I ordered 5 mystery fems from nirvana. I know, not a smart choice for first time grow. These grew under a 2' t5 light w/ 3 cfl's after about 4 weeks. So the t5's were for 4 weeks and I then added the cfl's for the second 4 weeks.

Here they are, 1 week into flower. About 24 to 28" tall Under a 600 watt hps.
Read alot about spider mites, 1st day they were in this box, I came out the next morning and had white powder all over them. My first thought was spider mites, Well I just painted box 2 days before, Thank god that was it. I have some discoloration on a few of the leaves, I'm thinking its the tiger bloom, heard that was strong.
Do I need to prune these or do anything to them? Any advise for this first time grow would be helpful. I pulled clones off these and most are dying. Looks like start from seed again, I was trying to get a rotating system with clones from these, that way when these are rdy to harvest, clones are rdy to flower. Now a 2 or 3 week delay while waiting for more seeds. Thinking about it, a 3 week delay will give me time to harvest and dry, just in case it runs past 8 weeks to flower. Didn't do much to these guys except top several times and supercropped a few times on each main cola. If I read right, I should get about 10 or so main cola's on these. Hoping they get about 5' high.

You did a pretty dam good job for your first grow Do you think a 4/2.5 custom grow box is enough for 4 plants ? I'll do it tomorow

My plants are doing great because I'm a very lucky person. So give advise please. I have seen alot of plants in flower like mine and they have alot less leaves, pruning??? Do I need to prun these? I did tie them open today, opened em right up, so light gets to lower buds. Had too, a few mains were heading upward to fast. Here are some more pics. about 2 weeks into flower

Here we are folks,,, 1 plant is 4 1/2 weeks into flower, and the other 2 are almost 4 weeks. I have seen tons of buds on pics. But it is a whole new feeling to see it in person, on your own plant. I topped these 3 plants several times, looking like at least 10 colas. The buds are so sticky. You would think there is glue in them. I expect each cola to get at least a foot long bud. They are already at about 8" of continuous bud, in 4 weeks, they should get quite a bit bigger in the next 4 or 5 depending on how long they take to finish. WAAHOOO. Enjoy

Here are 13 clones, I got off my 3 plants. I had to take them at 10 days flower. because first batch of clone I took during veg, died. The other pics are the 6 I kept out of the bunch. 2 are pretty rough looking, they are going straight to flower box (just to see what happens). The other pic. with 4 are going to veg for a few weeks until about 18". Gave away the other 7 clones to one happy guy. lol I'm not trying to grow alot, just enough for this old mans aches and pains, so 4 is plenty, with rotation, I'm hoping.

wow..first grow? Very nice. Your a natural. Plants look perfectly healthy, buds are looking awesome. I have to say..this is one of the best first grows I have seen on here! +Rep for you and Im subb'd. Clones looking pretty good too

I hope I'm a natural when it comes to weight,,,lol. I grew all this without a ph meter too,,,lol Figured I would buy one if I had problems. Used distilled water thoughout grow. And foxfarm ocean forest for plants 6" or more. Used fox farm lightning warrior for clones and will with seeds from now on.. Thanks for your reply, was getting kinda lonely on here. Box is just my clone and veg. box, it should be white next time you see a pic. If you noticed my flower box is flat white.

My next step is to read about when to harvest and how. So far I got this. When tricombs are about 30% amber is when to start cutting up? I flush the last week and just give water only after flush. Let sit in dark room for 24-48 hrs before cut down. A question I have is, when do I know it has about a week left? Any input on how you guys harvest is welcomed.

Nice grow man, wish I would of got the mystery fem pack cause it seems it would be more fun not knowing what it is.

For harvesting I will say this. Just let it grow until it is ripe, you will see the pistols receding inwards and it will look just amazing. You got the mixed pack so some will finish earlier than others I imagine. Some people will say to only judge it by the combs, which is cool, but not if the bud isn't ripe yet. I told my buddy who grew some indica looking plant to wait but he refused cause he said the combs were perfect. The high was completely shit, and he couldn't figure out why. He thought he didn't cure it right and just disregarded my opinion of it being too early to pull. I am a firm believer in growing until it looks amazing. If you want a head high get a sativa and grow it until ripe. I do like to use my scope and check out the lower budsites, and if they are not the same as the tops I will do a staggered harvest.

Another question. I havent had any water on the leaves since they were seedlings. I keep getting this feeling of wanting to spray down the leaves right before lights out. I don't want to do anything extra than I'm doing now. (Why fix if not broke). I have added extra stuff to feed though, some thrive, cal mag. and grandmas molasses. They are being fed per gal. 2 tbls of fox farm big bloom, 1 tbls of FF tiger bloom, 1 drop of thrive, 2 Tsp of cal mag, 1 tsp of molasses. Seems to work so far, first feeding since adding the 3 was this morning, they are showing no sudden effect. Will take advise on nuets too. Wondering if I should use cal mag, because molasses has some calcium?

NIce first run props to ya! yeah cover the walls,you can get emergency blankets at wally world for a couple bucks basically just thin mylar. And i would suggest changing your title to get more views i almost didn't look because i am tired of looking at first grows and people asking the same stupid fucking questions over and over .You obviously did your research and going to give you well earned rep for it. as for the ripeness well personal preference trichs cloudy headier high ,amber body high. This is where exp. starts playing out i usually starat my flush when i see them start to change to amber and at least 80% of pistils have turned.

Ye m8 now the way i harvest is i start to feed just plain water on about week 7 so week 8 and 9 all they have are water making sure at the end ov week 8 and 9 flush thru with 5 x the pot size ov water then everyday after week 8 i check them with a 100x zoom microscope .when most ov the trichs are orange and top heavy (bentover with a big orange ball on the end)atleast over 50% on all the plant as once cut they also mature when hanging to dry,so thers how i do it but it really does come down to preference never go by the colour ov the hairs as most people say i had a chemdog last grow that just never had orange hairs even after 9 weeks and it was ready allrite one ov the best plants ive eva smoked so if ya want it done proper like you should as you doing everythink else proper then get the scope or just leave these plants a half a week or a week longer to be sure and get scope next grow goodluck.FUGITIVE 360

Seeing red hairs on some of the cola's, will be 6 weeks in flower on the 26th. Hate to be a picture freak, but I'm going to take more tonight.lol

I ordered 5 mystery fem seeds from Nirvana. Can anyone tell by looks, what it might be? I'm getting very little smell off these. With door open and fans blowing, you don't smell nothing until about 3 ft from door of box. Had door open all day and should have had entire room stinking, but it wasn't. Sqeeze a bud and you get smell and sticky. I have a feeling it's going to sneak up on me and one day my whole outbuilding reeks.

Just about 6 weeks into flower, I have what I think is spider mites. I watched a video and it showed them as being ethier white (young) or red (mature). I'm seeing the leaves messed up just like having mites, but after looking the bugs are little black ones. Covered the plant with this stuff called mighty wash. Seems to be working. Any advise?
