1k 5x5 Grow Tent Cooling Problems

I have a 55" X 55" X 79" Grow Tent with a 1000 Watt Dimmable Digital Ballast that I got from HTG Supply. I don't have any plants in there yet, but today I was doing a test run to see what kind of temperatures I was dealing with. When I had it dimmed at 50% (500watts) it was sitting at 95F, and at 100% it was sitting at 101F. I live in SoCal, and today was only 85F. Humidity in the tent is sitting at 37% with lights on and 45% lights off.

I have a 6" Inline Duct Fan that pushes 424 CFM. Carbon Filter > Airoflow Reflector > 6" Inline Fan > Outside the tent to the window.

What can you guys suggest to better cool the tent? Should I put the fans and filter in another order?

You need another fan.. you currently have no exhaust. Take the c/f off and run the ducting out the tent. Use the other fan to exhaust the tent itself, attach the filter to this ductingOr thats howd id set it up hah. You also might need an ac, socal summer will be hot

id start by getting that ducting stright/less bends as you can.

Right now I only have One Inline Fan, and it is being used as the exhaust. Its sucking air through the C/F > Airoflow Reflector before it goes outside.

I was told I would only need 1 fan because the current one would create a negative suction, and suck new air in through a screened hole in the bottom of the tent.

The way I have the venting setup right now is so that when the Reflector is all the way down (For when the plants are small) it still reaches. If I remove any more ducting, it will no longer reach when I bring the light down.

did you do a heat test with the light all the way down?if not you should.

I put the light all the way down, so it was about 24" from the floor of the tent. I also put my Full Size Oscillating fan in there for the test, and let it run for 30 minutes.

The Temperature went back up to 101.7F with 30% Humidity, and sat at that temperature. When I turn the light back off, it goes back down to 84F where I would like it to be at.

If anyone looked at the last photo's they were incorrect. I am deleting the old pictures, and uploading new ones in this post.

well looks like you just might need to get another fan(8"vortex)or ac.

I would try putting a y connection on your fan and have the fan your pull air through the light and the carbon filter sepratly instead of pulling air through the carbon filter then your light then out of the tent.

If your ambient temp is 84F then thats your problem. Drop the ambient temp closer to like 70 and then when you turn lights on it should get the tent around 80-85

Dont waste your time or money on more fans and ducting,get an ac unit in there 150.oo and some duct tape ,i fought and fought with fans ducting and all and still had to add a/c

I was thinking about moving the tent to my spare bedroom. If I were to put an AC unit in the window and had the tent in the room, would the tent be cool enough because the room is 70F at all times, or would you still put dedicated ducting to the tent from the AC?

I already spent most of my budget on the tent and lighting and all supplies, so I wouldn't really have much more for anything too expensive. I could easily put in an AC like you guys said, but would I need a thermostat and a bunch of other expensive stuff.

What do you guys think? Thanks!
