18x30x36 tent light?

I recently got a new tent for veg. I'm trying to get it set up and looking at lights. I think I'm set on a 2ft 4 bulb t5ho fixture. I have looked at some leds and am worried about not having enough head space to run a leds. I have seen some shop light looking leds, but didn't know if they would be good or not. I don't plan on running an exhaust fan in this set up. I just want to speed up flower time by vegging in another tent. So I guess my question is what lights would y'all recommend?

My flower tent is 2x4x5. I train them to be low and bushy.

Hey @87swampthing I've been running LEDs in my 2x4x5 tent, both veg and flower. That said, for veg as you write using a T5 fixture could be great for your setup without an exhaust fan. Maybe it depend on your environment; temp and humidity. Moisture building up inside of your grow tent might be something to watch for so maybe you decide based on which light give off more heat and whether you want that heat or not.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah right now I struggle with temps in the 2x4 with the led so I'm kind of leaning more towards the t5 for the veg tent. The distance thing bugs me too with the LEDs. I was just wondering if someone had tried the shop light LEDs. I didn't know if they would have better penetration or not than the t5 if I let them get a little taller. But I do try to keep mine short. Mine in the flower tent vegging right now I'm keeping at 6".

Also, yes I'll monitor temps. I have been right now with no light to see what's going on in there. I just don't want to bleach them or burn them in such a short tent.

Ah, you mean how how would your "run of the mill" florescent compare to the T5 fixtures and are they worth the extra bucks. No comparison and worth every penny, the T5 is far superior.
Ok, thank you! I'm still fairly new to growing and I have only 1 grow under my belt. Second is getting close to the 12 flip. So all I have used so far is the LED.

It is a little cramped in there. Next time just going to veg 2. I like the room of having just 2 in each of the tents.

looks really good. how long do you veg for? basically what i'm aiming for except i don't do training. just defoliate here n there, i use a tall ass gorilla tent for flowering.

Well all I'm aiming for right now is as soon as I start flowering is to pop some seeds in the veg tent, and as soon as flower is done move them. So I'm going to guess around 8 weeks. I'm only on my second grow in the flower tent so I'm still learning my process. I have to train them being 2x4x5 flowering tent. I'm just trying to cut time of doing it all in one tent. Ill put a pic up of what I have in flower now.

It's from a local breeder. He calls it tiger balls. I can take a pic of the sheet that was with the seeds if u like. Hybrid 90% sativa. Hard to see the net in the pics but everything was below that when I switched to 12
