18x23 inches closet - Is it enough for a decent grow?

I'm looking at changing from a tent, to a closet. And all I have is 18x23 inches. Height wise I got like 8 feet, so that is plenty I think. I could even split it up and have a different section for all my cables, extraction fan, power plugs timers etc, and a section for all my nutes and stuff.

What do you guys think?

Any reason you were planning the change? What sort of light you gonna rock in that smaller place? I mean really it comes down is that enough space for you and the amount of plants you run. For me it's way to small I built two rooms in my basement both 8x5x7. So it's all preference and can you manage the heat and all that good stuff.

Depends on what you consider a decent grow I suppose. Theres lots of folks who grow in computer cabinets and they are happpy with it.
How big is the tent you are wanting to get out of?

guess with the height you could shelf it out

do a shelf or 2 of clones with one flowering area

you could also stagger some clones and pull a plant every week or 2 kinda depends what your expecting to get out of it

I mean that size box you got space for 1 good size plant and a shelf or 2 of clones

or 4 smaller plants with a lamp hanging between them

I don't like the tent filling up my room, when there's already a big cabinet I could transform. And I'm going to rock a 2 cob LED, 3590 or vero 29, probably dimmed a good bit. There's loads of room vertically though, like 2.3 meter. That's 7.5 feet.

https://northerngrowlights.com/collections/all/products/photon-180cd-led-grow-light-1 something like that.

And as long as I can have one plant scrogged and gain a good amount from it I would be happy.

A decent grow would be a 100ish gram yield tbh. That's perfect for me, and my needs.

That was kind of what I was thinking of. But ventilating is kind of hard if I have to do it in 2 different shelves. Like how would I do that?

I like your thinking though!

just vent the clones into the flower or the flower into the clones and out

the clones don`t need too much airflow not like a flowering plant would need

maybe just go with 2" to 4" holes and ducting ?

As long as the cost of running your grow is worth it to you man I say go for. When I had to pay for electricity I always made the argument is the cost of electricity, and all the other cost justify what I get out of my grow. Buy anyways again run it I'll watch your grow if you log it to see the outcome!

So how would that work? With ducting etc. Here's what I have so far, sorry about the quality, I just drew it up now to give you an idea of what I'm thinking..

So a top compartment just for wires and the box extracting fan (trying to keep it silent) with the ducting running down to a carbon filter in a seperate room.. how would I went the middle room then? Or what were you thinking?

I'm not entirely doing it to make up the cost, I like it as a hobby. But sure it has to make some sense financially. And I will make a log if I decide to go for it, for now I'm just flowering in my tent, and when that's done I'm looking into changing it up, with new lights as well.

Does this closet have attic access?
Nope not at all. I just plan on extracting into the room, and using passive intakes.

@whitebb2727 might be able to give you some insight on your grow setup since you would be basically doing a cab grow of sorts with the dimensions you are talking about. Hes got a pretty solid cabinet grow.

Thank you.

I would do as the op.

put the filter and filter in top, light below that and flower area. The under it the veg or clone area. Make the shelf separating the two air tight. Cut a 4 inch hole and add a couple pvc elbos to make a s shape to make a light trap.

So you would basically have a passive extraction of the clone/veg room, which is at the bottom? That's not a bad idea.

My only problem with 2 grow "rooms" is that I won't have a place to dry. I'm trying to avoid having to have a grow tent in my apartment, so maybe I would need to have a drying room instead..Any thoughts?

And thanks for the help so far.

Here's how it actually looks. The 2 shelves can be moved around where ever I want in the cabinet. I was planning on using some silicone to seal every corner and edge though, just so it's air and smell proof.

Also was considering keeping those metal-net things, or at least one of them at the bottom. They would be perfect for holding a 5 gallon smart pot, and allowing air flow below the smart pot, while also allowing the runoff to drip down on a trey below.. + they slide out.. so you could have an easier time grooming and lst'ing and watering.

yeah build your top shelf and cram all your wires fans and hot shit in there

then for the clone`s I would use some cfl`s or a low power led panel, like 30w or so 60w max, your going to want your veg shelf to be around 30 to 50% the height of your main flowering area

500mm normally is just about enough to let you veg up a 300 to 400mm clone, sometimes you can bend and side light

then I`d go with 4 plants or so on the lower shelf light them from the top down

see your flowering lights can be set up to perfectly warm your clones root zone helping them root up

once their roots are coming out the bottom of the rockwall slab just move them downstairs to flower up

go with an 8 to 10 week strain and you`ll get 10 to 12 weeks between crops or stagger them half half, 100% upto you, make it work for you

Cardboard boxes are great for drying in.

Or keep the tent and set it up only for drying.

My cab is 2 x 4 x6 so its a little bigger.

Ah Ammo that explains the structure

Why is it only Ammo seems to be best when the buds do what I call the "white dog poo" change ? I used to think it was down to the extra flowering time for ammo

and the pointy top I normally a credit to NL#5 it seems to do that ammo tall stacked callax thing too just as Ammo has haze more sativa longer flowering time taller buds ?

I was pretty sure it had to be genetic I mean I`ve seen hot spots cause some differences but it was clearly more pointy, lol

Looking nice enjoy the peppery loveliness that is Ammo, South London peeps go crazy for it here

Never done or had Heisenberg what`s it like ?

Sorry to thread jack Gringo........ bongsmilie
