I know its usually a 12/12, but I have heard a few interesting things bout this but not the results. Ive heard as long as they reccieve a 12 hour night its all good and no hermies or problems. with this cycle they get extra light and get bigger. the tricky part would be the timer. any ideas or evenbetter experience with this???

if your plants are already in a 24 hour day period, i think switching to 30 hours would stress them out, since night would be a different time every day. i've heard of growers using an 18 hour day, but they start it from seed, so maybe if you started a 30 hour day from seed you could try it out.

make sure you induce flowerin by a 48 hr dark period befire trying and you cant do it for more then a week.

i have often thought about using differant lighting times (i have always used 18/6,12/12) i will be looking into this tread to see what others have used and how they got on with it.

when u induce 48 hr of dark you get a deep stretch in the plant you must provide a good nitrogen watering before to get that nice stretch , then throughtout the week the plant will stretch from the 18 hrs of light but think since its having 12 hrs of dark that its budding time the trick is how to get them back from that light schedule

Thanks for the input. I keep em in veg 24/7 and put em in the dark for 36-48 hrs before flower. I only have a 400w to flower with so I thought having a longer day during budding might help to compensate. Where would I find a timer to try this out??
