16 on 8 off

I do have one question concerning growing at 16 on and 8 off, we grow that way beacuse the electricity rate increases from .04 per kw to .28 per kw after 16 hours a day.
So, if the plants are seeing 16 hours of light a day, will there be a problem going to 12 for flower? Should I keep them in the dark for a couple of days first, before flipping 12/12?
OR....
I can burn the lights from Friday night until Monday at noon for 24 hours a day during the weekend cheaper rate making them lights on 24 hours a day for that short time before flipping will help out too?
OR....
maybe go with 11 on and 13 off for the first week, and then go to 12/12?
I just want a normal flowering process, and I was afraid that going from 16 to 12 versus 18 to 12 will mess them up in flower?

16 hours is fine, 16-24 is all good for veg
12/12 will work fine, you can tinker around with it an hour here an hour there if you wish , but i doubt it will make much difference to your plants
they will flower under 14 hours of light much the same as they would 12
your plants are fine you have not stressed them, just put them on 12/12 don't over complicate things and don't worry

A 16-8 is what I use myself for my white widows and they do just fine on that cycle.

Something to keep in mind is with indoor lighting your tricking the plants into thinking its a certain time of the year so with a 16-8 cycle your not going to get as quick of growth off the bat so instead of a 3 month period from seed to harvest with a 24-0 or an 18-6 your looking at maybe 4-6 for comparable size.'

But no worries a longer dark cycle isnt going to hurt them, just avoid changing the light cycle until flowering on the 12-12 or risk putting the girls into shock.

Happy growin!

Have grown 24/0 and 18/6 in the past and know exactlly what your saying about more aggressive growth but at 16/8 they still grow well but just not as fast from what I have seen on the other cycles. I may still go ahead and zapp them up to 24/0 that last weekend before flipping them, just for the heck of it, but it seems from what everyone is saying is that 12/12 is the magic number for flowering from the get go for the flowering, as they will do fine coming off of 16 on with no problem just as if they would have been 24 on.
Thank you for setting me straight, I look forward to telling friends how to start flowering indoors in the next couple of months. I no longer grow because Im going to jail soon, maybe. Interesting enough your responses
