150w HPS screws to standard outlet! What do you think?(Pic of Light)

Here is a pic of the 150w hps from home depot that plugs into a standard outlet!

Its only 22 bucks, lasts 25000 hours, 2100k light temp, 16000 lumens.

out one of these lights into one of these domes ($8.00) and you have one dope ass flowering set up for one bad ass female.

the description also states it is cheaper than an incadescent bulb. So to buy 2 of these put 1 plant under each and run it for 12-20 hrs a day cant be that bad.

somebody give me some feed back or make comments.

Please stop before you burn your parents house down. Just because it has a a mogoul base and fit in a regular socket doesn't mean it works you dumb fuck. Why not go spend your time figuring out that HID lights require an igniter and operate diffenerent than normal incandesent lights. I don't mean to jump all over you but this has been covered 100's of times. Its is clearly labeled in the FAQ, so why you tell some other ignorant fuck about this "dope ass setup"? Fuckers like you who burn the fuckin house down give a bad name to all.

I thought they were some imitation garbage but I was wrong, they are the real deal. Home depot does sell HID lights at much lower rates than many garden/hydro shops I have been to.

I am not as dumb as I led on in this post...I was just a little high and excited cause I never new Home depot had these things. I do APPOLOGIZE TO EVERYBODY that I would post such a dumb shit thing. Forgive me......

ignore that twat, welcome to RIU. You will need a ballast mate, think about it - although it would fit into a normal socket most appliances say "max 60watt" etc so be careful.

Please dont take any offense when I say this but some of the greatest things are made/done by "dumb ideas". Dumb ideas give people other ideas Like converting a 400w+ computer power supply into a 400w+ ballast (or in this case 150w) Anybody wanna try a DIY attempt at a HPS ballast? Just need an igniter should be able to get a mogul socket some where. Sorry just adding my dumb thoughts in too lmao

no it needs a ballast. it wont even flicker.

bongsley86 you dont have to be a ass he was asking a question. i understand is question was pretty simple and needed a simple question.

you can make a HPS ballast from security light sold at hardware store but seriously if youre not to good in electrical buy it fully assemble. i ran my wires for my fans and all ive got experience in contruction but i would not play with this shit i bought my HPS fully assembled. just do the math before you buy. you can spend more time and money buy bying the wrong thing.

right now ive got my setup in my closet pretty nice one i might say now i am looking in building this

He didn't ask if it was O.K. or electrically sound to put together, the guy posted like he had this shit up and running at his house with his daughter in the next room. In my book thats not just ignorant it's dangerous. i simply saw it at home depot....period. got excited and decided to post it. less than 24hrs later i realized it needed a ballast.
