well the title pretty much says it
im planning on putting 2, 3 plants max in the box, im gonna set up fans and run the light and make sure the ventilation is adequate and the temperature is cool enough before i get them growing in there.

im pretty sure this light will be adequate since its in a small enclosure. or is this light trash? im not sure im an indoor noob.

Reflector Measures Approx: 16"Long x 13"Wide x 6"Deep
im gonna build the box around the dimensions of the light, make sure it fits and all
the only thing that worries me is the heat, plan is to have two fans on top to suck out hot air, and two inlet fans at the bottom to suck in cool air. think maybe i will need 6 fans instead?

lemme know what yall think, helps appreciated.

You should be alright with properly set up fans. I would have two fans opposite sides of the light, one blowing in the other blowing out so you get constant airflow right underneath the light. I have a 250w and it really doesn't get all that hot, but mine isn't in such a tight space. Having the two at light level will act somewhat like a cooltube, an maybe one or two on top blowing out and an intake fan on the bottom and I would think that heat won't be an issue at all.

Get the euroreflector and some ducting and a duct fan, it will help alot! tempered glass in them helps hold heat down and the fan sucking air through the reflector whisks away air constantly, keeping temps down.
Dont forget to negotiate with them, they are cool shit like that. Ask for a discount and you shall recieve it, Saved me over 300 compared to what my bill would of been w/o talking to them first.

damn the euro reflector is expensive tho. and then id have to buy a fan and go buy ducting, i think buying fans 4-5 fans and a power supply would balance out the price and would be just as effective.

and i also came across this http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=49255
since its gonna be a pretty small area it think it looks alright or is it junk? its got 16,000 lumens

or should i stick with this guy here http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=53025

you'll need to get a good duct fan and some ducting if you use the first one still but that shouldnt work out to bad. Go with option 1.

I'm using a 150w hps in a box that is not much larger than what you have described. It has worked just fine..Follow dark and sins advice and just make sure you have good circulation and ventilation and you should be fine.

YOU WILL BE OK IF you use a little 6 in fan or 8 in fan to move the air around then please used two P.C. fans from left to right >-----> the air needs to move one way intake and exit. the littel 6 inch pc fans will do it just fine i can tell you how i got my fans wired duel to a single ac adapter !

I like that 150 watt hps, i havent seen a remote ballast on one of those yet, they usually just put the ballast in the hood, nice.

1500 watts the equivalent of a large PC case.......NO SHOT. I mean I'm sure it's possible...but I don't see the point.... not only are there temp issues, but it seems like so much light for such a little space (constricted growth)...
