150w HPS, 6 23w CFLs, 6 plants, 1 room, 1 dream

well thats the title. here are some pics.

they were originally only under the CFLs before we setup the new room. They started in MG as well and became rootbound in the 16oz cups (see the right plant in pics) transferred to the new pots and out of MG into FFOF w/ nutes. They have been under the 150watt in the new setup for one night now and havent changed any colors to show stress, i do hope they start growing a bit faster. They are around week 2 of Veg, but finally have a completely proper setup...

^the distance between HPS and plants is 14" when i get a fan i hope to lower it.

I do apologize for the different coloring, everything is actually a dark green on the plant.


That is the smallest plant in our large pots decent growth, but i hope they start taking off after tonight...


that is our second largest plant good coloring and very compact so far.


and the biggest in terms of leaves, it is wider than it is tall...

well i transplanted the little bugger into a larger pot, but i dont know if having a clear pot is a bad thing or not for soil, anyone?

I think we have gotten lucky so far, i destroyed some roots on the transfer, and he is very weak but a few of the others were as well and came back strong... Im hoping for some more height or growth, but they are slow buggers.

the bigger plants are beginning to grow rapidly. I am still trying to figure out a proper watering schedule... i only have a 2qt pitchr and have been using it to water all of them about ever 2-3 days trying not to over water, but i also am using 2-1-1 grow big w/ 1 tbsp per pitcher.

I hope to have pictures tomorrow as i put a small oscillating fan in but need to go get 2 small desk fans to help cool down the light and add more air flow.

Well i went to wally world and picked up a small 10" fan that is now hanging and blowing air across, along with an oscillating fan down below, lots of air movement. While i was in there i decided to take some more photos, this time with the HPS off... i have a few more but my phone died in the middle...


This is our favorite so far, it is small and compact and growing FAST, i had just watered it before this pic.


that is the same plant but from above. I am hoping with the addition of some 'wind' in there that they begin to form thicker stems.


this is the second largest, it is MUCH wider than it is tall.


this is one of the smaller ones, only two have completely taken off, there are 4 small growers, however the 2 large ones have also been in the larger pots for longer.

Good job man! Looking good. You got intake exaust correct? Exaust right over the light is best for pulling heat out. Good luck man ill be watching.

the room right now doesnt have an exhaust, just the fans blowing across, there is about 2' above the reflector for heat to go into and then dissipate, it seems to work well... there is fresh air that can get in and out, the box isnt light tight, but the room it is in is, so there is no light going in/out when the door is shut...

loool I knew I recognized this post from somewhere;;; Definitly set up an intake and exaust though...thats very importan specially since if you put exaust right over the light it will throw less heat and youll be able to put your 150 hps within 4 or so inches to your girls when they get a lil older. Also vital for new air...you make alot of co2 will you breathe and plants love co2...so a constant supply of air is brining in fresh co2...if its closed up it will use that co2 and not have near as much. Just something to thank about

well, the box is no where near a box, but i have some ways to setup an exhaust/intake and it wouldnt be that hard, but would require about $20 in supplies before fans as i have no inline fans...

oh, and yea, i cross posted this in different ways a few times just to try and get some input on how they are growing, but am not getting many hits, hopefully if i keep this updated it will get more hits

Ive found that people on here and myco dont respond to much till your in later flowering. http://marijuanapassion.com and http://www.icmag.com are the most responsive I use.

age is confusing... they are probably 18 days from planting. but only 3 so far have been spent under the HPS w/ CFLs and nutes... a few of the plants were transplanted at different times, and they are in different buckets... If we get a good yield, i might make a larger actual box for the next grow so its not as cramped.

im getting some good growth, there has been a small amount of new growth already from the last set of pics...

You are growing in a box, and in dirt,
both of which I have no experience at all.

I'll keep an eye on your grow,
but you need to find someone else for advice,
because you are way out of my realm.

I will tell you that you should start training the plants now.
Training is one area that I am familiar.
Bend the bitches over.
even babies benefit from this,
especially in the confined space you are growing in.

More light is always better,
so if you can replace those 23w cfls with 46 watters,
you may benefit from the increased lumens.

Don't get your hopes too high.

If you get 20 grams out of your first grow
your doing 4 times better than my first.

I would like to replace the CFLs but I cant find 46w Daylight cfls, during flower however i do have 6 46w CFLs to replace the daylight 23watters... they will be trained some today when ppl leave and my roomie gets back. I may also FIM them today they grew atleast another 1" in the last 12 hours.

Most "old growers" don't fimm or top their plants.
We have found the yeild is the same
and the plant has to slow down for a week to repair itself.

Just bend them over and watch them "bush out".
