150 watt hps

So i have a 2 x 2 x 4 grow tent not being used atm and I'm curious how a 150 watt hps would do in in this small tent with 1 autoflower.

Any info/advice would be great. As I've never used any lighting beside led cobs.

Normally I would say 150hps is a bit weak for a 2x2 but since your growing autos you will get higher dli with the longer hours of light.

you can always add an extra strip setup with like 4 strips to the sides of the hps and run it on a 60watt power supply but since your running autos it should work out fine

With all High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting, comes a lot of heat. Now a 150W won't put out a crazy amount, it will be noticeable in such a small space, so take into consideration your current ambient temperature in the area the tent will be in, and your ventilation options.

Also, do you plan on expanding your grow in the short to medium term? If so, you might be better off researching a 600W dimmable system in preparation for the expansion.

Ambient temperature in the area the tent will be in will be about 9 to 11 Celsius, I have a spare Vivosun 4 inch inline fan not being used i can set up also.
No expansion is planned i have a 4x4x6 grow tent i currently use and im happy with my grows so far.

I would then just do the hid then, if your plants want more light build a little frame that holds four 2 foot strips and have the hid in the middle and have the strips surround it.

I'm going as cheap as possible, do you have any recommendations on some strips?
