I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether there are 150 watt MH conversion bulbs for the 150 watt HPS systems that are out there...
I did find this bulb but wasn't sure if it would work or not... Any help would be great, I don't really want to spend the money to upgrade to a 250 watt convertible kit... Here is the link for the bulb that I found, let me know if it will work in a 150 watt HPS system (sun system, all in one kit)...

i may be wrong about this, but i thought that mh bulbs will work in a hps ballast, although not the other way around

I don't see where it says it's a conversion bulb. If you have an HPS ballast, I wouldn't buy that one.

Im not positive if they make a conversion that small but have you tried googling it? I typed in "will mh bulbs work in hps ballast" and a few diff things popped up.Not sure if there would be anything of use to you anywhere in there but its worth a shot. Then maybe google up something about your wattage bulb and see if you find anything.
Goodluck man,Hope you find what our looking for.

mh bulb will work in any hps ballast. if it is not a conversion bulb it will reduce life by about 10% but thats not bas considering there are ways to reduce bulb life by alot more. ie high temps

igniter will continuously try to "ignite" which i what cause reduced life no fire though since it simply alters the frequency of the electrical current. hope i helped you i had a 150w halide when i first started and they didi not make the bulbs and since i couldnt use hps in it i had to get a 175w and it worked fine there is alot of info on this subject.

So is it safe to say that this bulb will suffice but lose a little bit of its shelf life...really want to make sure before I spend the money...

look into micro and stealth growing. and then look in 12/12 from seed. some good simple nutes and a bag of GOOD potting soil some vermiculite and perlite and you willl be good to go. (fox farm, roots organic, black gold are good soils simple nutes like pureblend soil grow and bloom)

tents are indiscreet and require more light you could get the propagation tent from jarden but then again you can save money and build somthing just as good that size.build a wooden box or buy a kitchen cabinet(or any cabinet) and line the walls with panda plastic

You said no tents, but you say I could use the Jargon propagation tent... aren't they the same thing?
I was thinking something like this, but wanted to make sure that the 150 watt would be enough light to run like 4 plants... I was originally going to upgrade to a 250 watt mh/hps conversion kit, but if the 150 watt is enough I will just get the tent...unless I need to get something a little smaller...what do you think?

NO! jarden is top of the line metal frame mylar coating on cloth fabric lots of zippers and ports and they have little black flaps to help cover the zippers. overalll a 10 out of 10. most of the other tents have plastic frames that put toxic gas or thin material that light gets through. by building it yourself you can be sure its safe. make it out of poly, wood, or metal(pvc can not be exposed to light) jarden and homebox are the only 2 brands that i know of off hand that are good to go.
