150 hps cab

Alright so I quickly rigged up this old cabinet I found in the garage so I can flower a few small plants (durbain poison and purp kush) I was wanted to hear peoples ideas of what to do with my ballast if you look at the pics you can see the left side is the flowering side and then I got my wires and a little cloner set up in the right side. My ballast get pretty hot so I cant just leave it sitting on the wooden shelf, if I sat it on a flat rock or like a chunk of concrete like I usualy do would it be fine in that small area? Any other probs with my cab I will fix the back up so there are no light leaks shortly.

Since I didnt get any replies and I needed to get my setup running yesterday I figured my own problems out and got the cab up and running, plus threw together a quick veg cab to keep my clones going. Looking for some comments or even advice. Not my first grow but hopefully with this set up I can keep a couple small plants flowering all the time (durban poison and purp kush :bigjoint:)

Durban!! Love that shit! Get a concrete paver for walkways. Need some mylar or white flat paint. They look good. Im always interested in 150w grows, as thats where i started off. U gonna make this a journal? Im subscribed if so!! Good luck.. Peace and weed grease.

Yea Ive heard good things about durban, I got the seeds from a friend they are crossed with something not to sure what tho. I guess I will be making this into a journal I will take some pictures tonite when my lights come on. Im planning on getting some mylar or another reflective material just havent come across anything yet.

I got some nice results off my 150 on my last grow in a closet, im not intrested in growing large amounts of weed, just a few small plants at a time so a cab seemed like the way to go

how are the temps?? and was it hard to hookup hps? how much was the ballast and where did u get it?

lookin good so far you have it all covered i have a question for you what are your temps running you in there ? and also what total cfm's are your fans putting out for exaust?im starting a 150Watt hps and cfl grow..want to get my heat corrected first though..peace pot prosperity

I dont got a thermometer so im really not sure what my temps are at, I no its important I just never had a problem with it but im going to deffinitly start. The HPS was pretty simple to hook up im far from an electrician, all i had to do was take two wires that were running from the ballast and wire them up to the lamp. I got this light from a friend about a year ago when he got a better one.

ahahaha yes it is good call man. I had an old xbox 360 thats cd drive died on me tried everything to fix it but couldent, so I salvaged the fan and wired it up to a AC adapter along with a much smaller fan. Its a wonderfull fan.

So I havent had a good chance to take any new pics yet but I took a long look at my garden last night a realised that the two purple kush plants were male so needless to say they are gone, so im down to two durban poison's. Im going to start some diffrent seeds but most likely only go one at a time till a find another female since im tight on space.

Yea so I got fucked over.... outta all five seeds I started all turned male, this has never happened to me and it sucks but what ever I'm moving on. Started germing 3 new purple power seeds last week and got them in some soil. Two of them have sprouted a couple days ago, been keeping the lights real close to try and keep their size down. One of them looks normal with the regular sets of leaves and then the other one has odd numbers and is shaped wierdly. I will post pictures. Has any one ever seen a seedling with odd numbers of leaves.
